Limited Amount of Gems?

So is there no way to get gems outside of chests? If so, I'm probably ♥♥♥♥♥♥ then.

No other way, once you lose them you cant recover them. This has been said in the FAQ sticky discussion.

as has been noted in the developer's notes, it is intended that the player be eventually able to recover their lost gems ( however I would not recommend getting sloppy in case it isn't retroactive )

You get them back by blowing up the cliff portal.

Yep, it's limited and you can recover only one gem from destroyed cave, no matter how much gems you lost on it's island.

I never did and I beat the game.

There weren't enough gems to unlock everything for what I saw. I think I only lost 3 gems. In the end the

Farm shrine, island 1 mount, saddle hermit, lizard mount, and endurance horse weren't unlocked

Maybe i lost more and forgot? Still thats not bad, just don't unlock mounts or hermits you don't want. Don't unlock knight shrine. And unless you lose a ton of gems, your golden.


I think if you lose via crown stealer or something. The gems are just lost forever since they were still in your pouch? I think that might have happened with me, but haven't tested.


Either way, try to avoid opening gem chests until you actually need the gems. As it increases odds you'll lose them. Avoid going over 3-4 gems in pouch since you want the room for gold and that makes a loss that much more painful.

On the first save it's bound to have these mistakes, but on the second save you gotta learn your lessons by then. (I literally ignored gem chests on my 2nd save after I knew they take up so much space) By the way you can unlock 13/14 max out of 16 unluckables in the game even if you didn't lose any gems. I personally ignore the war horse and fat horse, basically island 3 mounts. It's a tough choice between bear or lizard though.

I kind of wished I had the stamina horse for out running the bombs. I know it ain't the fastest mount and you can still outrun every blast with the unicorn (Cuz I beat the game with it). But you have to do the run perfectly on the unicorn.

Just one accidental early stop with unicorn, that sticks you into the out of breath state early = game over if your trying for the perfect run achivement.


Might be my imagination but I feel like two crown's war horse is nerfed. It gets tired so very fast. Its still saved my bacon with unit invincibility, but yeah unicorn is no contest because the free money.
