Stuck with no money

I blew through both the first and second island and brought a huge crew with me to the third island with a full pouch but after setting up base I noticed its snowing and theres nothing around to hunt besides a few deer.
Luckily I have the Buck mount which helps but I think i've hunted all the deer in the area. I'm stumped as to what to do to earn money if rabbits and farms don't work during the winter.
I'm on the switch if it matters like if its a bug or something.

Time in Kingdom Two Crowns is continuous between all the islands. You have to plan for winter (there are four seasons and they all last 16 days each) before deciding to leave an established island with income stored with the banker.

I died on my first playthrough the same way, i think the key is to go back to a well established island that has banker with loads of gold and spearmen there (fishing income works during winter) just before winter hits.

I feel this could be better explained as I also threw my first run due to this. Could a simple icon for the current season show up under the global days number on the pause menu maybe? Or a "year" progress bar cut in 4 maybe so even without any numbers one can still see clearly how long seasons are.

I find the Map has a lack of information. It doesn't specify which islands i have the lighthouse and which is established. If i played the game and get a few islands done and then dont play the game for a few weeks, there isn't a way i can easily tell via the map which islands are what.

true, it would be nice if the map showed a little lighthouse beside the island you've build one on or something

I'm on a global day 61 and I still am in winter. If all seasons were 16 days, I should've been clear on day 49, and now well into spring. Has this changed since the last year? It's really frustrating being stuck and only watching the waves get tougher as the days pass, hoping the grass will come back. Makes me wanna dump the game tbh.

Pikemen and Foraging sites will help you through winter (64 minutes), the other option is to die intentionally if you are not carrying any gems.

the first winter starts on day 48 and ends on day 64
