If you take a look into the game's store page you'll see the game is described as a single player game. I might add the local LAN might work actually.

Technically speaking, it IS a single player game. Multiplayer was only a secondary game mode, the primary game mode was the Single Player, which was the only game mode that contains the lore.

If I had the money and/or enough people that would participate in that (by enough I mean at least 100 people working on it), we could reinitiate master servers somewhere on Digital Ocean or Google Cloud services, in an Enterprise plan presumably, and then a simple tutorial for re-enabling multiplayer by changing master servers in config files. I'm not sure if you can connect to a dedicated internet server directly by specifying the address somewhere in some input (console, manual server addition). Master servers should be hosting some games on their own, and then have an infrastructure directing people to other dedicated servers people send and publish.

I pray that this will be facilitated someday...

This isn't actually true, the game was originally planned to be multiplayer only spin-off to Deus Ex to release alongside the single player only Invisible War (original game had both modes). The single player campaign was added at the request of the publisher, and it shows due to its short length and general lack of polish compared to the multiplayer.
