Feels nothing like. It's way too action packed to be a spin off of deus ex. Still a good game though. Remember playing back on my ps2 but never completing it.
It's like Crysis or Chrome for me, run & gun with some armor abilities.
Basically all games released in those years were quite good, even the bad ones lol.
There were LOTS of FPS games in that era, and you can check in sites that allows you to browse by genre and year (if I'm not wrong I used gamespot years ago for that, the only interesting service of their site since their reviews are so bad): just google images the name of a game, and if you find it interesting then go "find" it. That's how I used to do things back then and I've got so many good games out of it.
Anyway, some of the suggestions here are spot on, like Red Faction, Pariah (which has an amazing AI for playing an offline MP game with bots), FEAR series, a bit of Chrome (but that's a very hard, open-world game that doesn't really play like this), but there's so many more that only a search engine would let you not miss the best pearls out there.
It's worth noting that most of those games (not the ones mentioned, but the ones which weren't) are nowhere to be found, probably not even on GoG, so you'll have to go the "dirty" route instead.
For abandonware, one of the best and clean sites out there is theisozone dot com (the posters usually also includes the needed patches), but they may not have everything. Just make sure you have a good antivirus if you're going to go deeper in your search in some unknown website.
also FACT lol
Project: Snowblind is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive. It was originally conceived as a multiplayer-focused third game in the Deus Ex series, Deus Ex: Clan Wars, but it was decided to set the game in its own universe.[1] Nevertheless, it remains a spiritual sequel to Deus Ex and retains many visible and conceptual links to its progenitors.
