If that doesn't work, I'd try to get different drivers. I'd try to see if you could get older drivers that are still on the site, or even try out beta drivers that are newer but not certified yet.
Also in the Nvidia Control Panel, make sure you're forcing it to use your Nvidia card. I don't know if you have a PC that has another in it or a built in one besides it, and so that may help.
It be easier to just reinstall the game than register the game manually. No matter how we look at it. The problem is at your end.
I tried running it with Vulkan instead. Never heard of that before, but it runs and so far it's stable, so I guess it's a DX12 issue here. I also forced it to use the nvidia card, in case it somehow decided in the middle of the run to switch over to the intel chip. Thanks!
Yeah, I had heard something sort of like this before, this kind of issue where it was switching to their internal GPU on them while playing a game and they had to force it to use their Nvidia card in the settings :D
Vulkan is sort of weird in benchmarks. The highs are higher than DX12, but the lows are lower. It's basically the new OpenGL. As long as it works, who cares right :P
I'm glad it's worked out for you! See you around.
My solution was to always use Vulkan.
