Generators and the heat mechanic
Hello. since the dlc came out and the new heat mechanic came into play i have been having fun with polar and the new map. However the bit i am having an issue with is the general temp in the base. I have so far been pairing my generators 2x2 with an ac per generator and it seems to keep the gens in the warm temp range.

However i have been told that there is a sweet spot that if you hit the temp bar for the gens go away so you cant tell if there warm, hot chilly or cold. and if thats true i have yet to find it.

Also the temp for the base i.e hallways and rooms how should i heat those rooms up, at the start i use just what i have which is the basic things. when i upgrade to the industrial heaters i dont know how i should place them and how far apart.

If anyone has any tips on how to keep my base warm (even after i use my superweapon which max my base go sub zero in temp) i would apreciate it :)

For generators, I have been putting them in pairs with 1 industrial AC unit for each then leave a little space between the other pairs. I may throw a regular AC unit in areas that are still a bit hot.

As for the rest of your base. I only try to keep item that drop in durability at the appropriate temp. Like you wouldn't need to heat lockers or gold racks since they don't degenerate on their own.

Since their is research to upgrade your minions resistance, I haven't really bother heating hallways.

Warm and chilly do not matter and have no effect. Do not try to optimize for nothing.
There are 11 temperature colors and only the one in the middle is the white color. It's silly to try to reach it across the whole generator room.

Yeah. I didn't mean across the whole room. Just where Generator still have a Hot condition.

i am mainly concerened about the generators, rooms like the vault and sub pens i dont place heat. But in the casino i will need to heat some, same with the lab,sleeping quaters and guard room. Even after researching the items to make the cold/heat affect the workers less.

Also when you use polars weapon everything in the base drops to freezing temp. That is why i ask should i place industrial heaters in the rooms/hallways to keep the rooms at least normal/warm temp

I tried it out at level 1. The super weapon doesn't seem to be too bad. It seems like the effect was short lived. You don't think you need to do the Lab if you place things correctly. Some of the Lab equipment produce heat.

I was thinking of trying something different and use power generators for the heat source in some rooms.

the only thing in my lab that dont produce heat is the boards, everything else does, my main concern is the casion, sleeping quaters and food court

It depends on how you design your casino. If you make it like a maze and not wide open, you may just want to put heaters by items. If it is wide open their is a large fire place like heater that you will be able to research.

I would put one in the food court since those items durability drops on its own. I don't think the Barracks need a heater as long as you have enough beds. The barracks are made to regenerate those stats anyway and the beds durability doesn't drop.
