They said no official mod support, but it sounds like some people are learning to mod the game.

Oh, is there somewhere that someone has made a mod?

I don't think anyone has made a mod. But some are learning how to modify the code themselves. May take time to actually create that into a mod.

Officially, no. Just like the first game. Unofficially? Also going ot be no, the biggest fans of the game have been all but run off. All that's left are the occasional new comers and those that want to bash the game some more for their own personal opinions. For the most part it worked, forums are all but dead these days.

Wouldn't hold your breath for any type of mod support.

These days, you can judge a lot of games by their modding community. As in, if it doesn't have one, that's a bad sign.

just because a game doesn't have mods doesn't make it a bad thing

having mods is a nice thing but its not a do or die kind of thing

Seconded. The refusal to respond to player grievances speaks volumes.

Let me explain it with crayons for you, then.

I said nothing about whether a game has mods or not. That's you making things up I didn't say.

When the modding community shows little to no interest in a game, that's means the game is not viewed as being good enough to spend time on. And before you make up more stuff I haven't said, when I say modding community in relation to this topic, I'm speaking primarily about mod authors.

Nowhere did I say or imply anything of the sort as "do or die kind of thing". This is just you making up more nonsense. Perhaps you should cool your extreme reactions so you can think more clearly about what's being said.

One last thing to leave you with... When the game is over a year old and there's still no page on Nexus for it, even for reshades, that speaks volumes. When you google "mods for evil genius 2" or similar searches and there's no mods in the results, that speaks volumes. This is not an indie game. For it to not have any mods at this point means no one has any interest in modding it. That lack of interest is negative mark.

""if it doesn't have one, thats a bad sign""

really? looks like you did say that

I don't get how developers can look at the interest, sales and content generated for free by modding communities like Rimworld, Arma, Elderscrolls/Fallout, Minecraft, XCOM, GMOD, GTA etc and still not think it's worth investing into.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. It's just a shame that games like this (with huge modding potential) are still being shoved out without modding support at launch. The most long-lived games are more often than not the ones with lively and welcoming modding communities...and that kind of requires the game to have some kind of mod support. How a publisher these days thinks it's not worth it is just mind boggling.

Hey, I was a Beta Tester and might be able to explain.

From what I can understand the game's development cycle was incredibly rushed due to Covid, what the community got was a very paired down concept. Game was in development since 2016 but was rushed and needed another year in the oven even with delays given.

DLC format was pushed by higher ups which made mods infeasible. It had to follow the same format as Sniper Elite and NZA, plus the crunch given to release the game ruined any hopes for modding.
