Why is there minion cap increase research that doesn't actually increase the minion cap?
My minion cap has been 300 since at least the first minion cap research. I hadn't really paid attention to what it was before that. However, the second minion cap research I was already at 300 and after the research I was still at 300. I had nothing left to research so I researched the third minion cap and my cap is still 300. Why the hell is this research even there? It doesn't actually do what it says. Before someone asks it, I know they will if I don't clarify, I attempted adding more lockers and I'm still capped at 300.

there is no minion cap research
those only allow you to have more minions without the need of a locker for them

it gives you more "minion space" aka you remove lockers

lets say it increases by 10 this means you can remove atleast 3 lockers ( cause they increase by 3 )

I've just read those +minions research as "you don't need so many lockers" -option.

Which itself is.. worthless.. since lockers are so small and cheap to begin with. Every time I have those available I seem to ask "Why would anyone waste money and time for those?"

300 is the current minion cap. I wish it was higher.

there are cheat engine tables out for EG2 which also allow you a higher minion cap.

It is a poor design that should have come up in testing, like many other things. The base limit should have been like 180 (example). You could bring the limit to 180 with lockers, and then with further research you can bring the base cap up with research.

However, this is not the case.

With how it is, you can just spam all the lockers to meet the cap, then ignore the research until you need to unlock it for the next ones past it.

They start out handy early on in the "Aw ♥♥♥♥ I can't even dig through rock yet" phaes, but you don't get any of the bigger count ones until your base is well established enough to own twice as many lockers as you need without them, yeah.

By the time you get the impressive free pop cap upgrade amounts, you have access to the super lockers and rock digging.

The issue is not the upgrade itself, but that the devs were afraid to give it to you when it would feel useful and reduce the feel of padding.
