The best thing about Evil Genius 1 Compared to EG2

You can play it offline unlike EG2. Most single player games you can play offline with exceptions . Do the files required to play reside on a server you have to connect to in order to play or is it just more DRM?

I haven't tried, but I think that you may be able to play it offline. It is just that when you save, you want to save it to the local drive rather than the cloud. The cloud save option is the Default setting.

When I try to play offline it tells me I have to connect to STEAM servers to play. Happened last week when our internet was out for a week. Same with Civilization 6 and some others.

huh. That's nuts. I've been forced to play a more than a few times with no internet connection and I've not experienced this with EG2. Maybe I'm profoundly lucky or it's some kinda setting.

Just a bit of intel on this.... If you start steam in online mode then games will whine about the connection to the steam servers not being available and then not start. Howwever... for those who've had spotty internet before; we know you can start steam in offline mode and still play the game. Yes; the game will whine about the steam connection not being there (and therefor not being able to access the cloud) but you can simply select the option to play anyways and the game will start normally....

Sidenote; if you try to start the game via the exec (either on your desktop or via the game's folder) it will try to start steam in online mode first (which is why I never bother to make a shortcut on the desktop anyways)

So:
* Start steam in offline mode
* Start the game you want to play
* Ignore the warnings about the connection issue (But be warned that you won't be able to use cloud either...dùùùùùhhhh)
* Profit

best thing about eg1 over eg2, imho, is that there is only one base entrance. and yes while you can add more entrances, i orefer to use only one, so i can setup kill zones. i do the same in eg2. so far the only ones that have made it past the kill zones in my base are the super agents and the thieves that spawn with that thief agent. but that's only because the spawn in the vault. my strategy does result in a rather high morbidity rate, but i can always get more slav... oops... i mean minions. the other minor thing is in eg1, you could have your genius execute prisoners, sorta like executing minions.

i don't know why the OP has an issue with the game needing to stay connected. the only reason i would even encounter an issue like that is if i was playing somewhere with no private internet connection. i really don't mind staying connected all the time. as long as you have a decent firewall, and don't download anything sketchy, there will not be an issue.

a good and properly configured firewall will make it so your computer is invisible to everything but the things you are interested in on the internet.

Well two thing The Force of justice design, man I miss each region the class have so many diferent design compare to EG2 their have all the same design just a colour swamp and their logo so simplefy compare the EG with much detail and work.
The second Is the World Domination.. i miss all the diferent mission have unique discription.. man what a miss opportunity

I agree. I miss the unique scheme with unique descriptions and the funny post scheme comments. In EG1, all of the super agents were all basically a Parody of someone.
