Other aspects of the DLC look interesting, but I've ended up just disabling the DLC for now. Hopefully they will add an option to disable the temp mechanic in the DLC (my preference), tone it down to the point of near irrelevance, or just scrap it completely.
>People want minions to actually need to man the control room.
>People want science minions to do a bit more than just research.
>Instead get heating and cooling.
They should have AT LEST given us like, level 1-3 conditioners to solve this issue.
I actually think the streamlining of minion stats, and most other changes from EG1, is an improvement. It retains the essence of the mechanic while discarding the extraneous.
As for science minions, they already do other things like manning objects besides doing research. I think they're fine as they are, but finding something else for them to do that is also complementary with the rest of the game could also be good.
Overall, I think EG2 is much better than EG1 and I've really been enjoying it.
But because of the fact that people like myself who haven't played since release, have been keeping half an eye on patch notes wondering if the game is now good. And then decided to give it another go with the new Campaign.
Can within an hour of play experience the heating mechanic and immediately know that they *still* have no idea how to make meaningful and fun mechanics that play well together.
And uninstall the game again.
But I mean...
Whilst not a fan of the heating mechanic, they have listened to lots of feedback and made plenty of changes.
