Listening devices?
I'm at the point in Max's campaign where I have to let investigators plant listening devices, then destroy them. How do I go about doing that? Do I have to pixel hunt for listening devices in my base, or is there something I'm missing?

Special investigators will arrive to your lair, just don't stop em and let them place devices, then remove them

I didn't notice them until there were 20+ all over the walls. Not sure how they actually affect the game.

They cause the alerts to pop up on the world map that cause major heat increases in various zones among other issues

They cannot even enter my base, the first guys who entered were just stopped by my passive traps and escorted too my casino. Do I need to destroy my defenses so this mission can proceed??? They did not even plant one device (although the first check was made that they planted 5).

Update: Yes.....

You may need to. In my game on Crown I had them coming in from both the casino and the helipad which made it easier to let them in. Just make sure that you unset the distract tags on them while they're in the casino and that should allow them to get into your base. may need to remove any zone tags if you've set them

Yeah, even if I did not use my controle zones I still needed to manualy untag them. I just build a empty corridor and then they planted like crazy.

The design of this mission is so horrible. For ♥♥♥♥ sake, have it planted already or spawn agents in the lair or something.

those listening device are quite buggy in my savegame.
some are found in area just dug out, some just keep re-appearing immediately at the same position when my minion destroyed it.

And seriously, who thought it is a good design/idea to make players manually find and click on each device, tag for destroy, in a 5-floor lair...

Or use capture to get them past your traps and casino and then let them out of your prison untagged to do their listening device planting things?

I totally agree about the pixel hunting though. I hate having to hunt for these dumb little things in various missions. I think there are still virus transmitters in my base somewhere because my technicians spend a lot of time fixing a virus infected console in my control room.

Letting the agents trhough doesn't require to dismantel all your defenses : set the casino items to 'scam tourists' (not sure if iit's that in english, i'm on the french version), alter your zone tags to stop confusing them and cut power to the traps. A bit o a bother, but easy to trun back on afterward

I am at the same point in Max's campaign and I never turned off my defenses or untagged agents, and I was able to dismantal 6 devices once this part of the campaign started. Now I am having a hard time locating the remaining 9 devices. So I am confused in what I should do to be able to complete this part of the campaign.

Update: I used my tagged zones to my advantage. I temporarily de-zone it and untagged one of the agents that are suppose to put the devices in my lair and once that particular agent clears out of my zone I rezone it and just follow that agent though out and then just kill the agent when the task is done.

I am well beyond that point in Max campaign and I am STILL finding listening devices! I must have destroyed at least 100 of those things and they keep popping up. I think it might be a bug ... in more ways than one. and frankly, I am finding them in parts of my base where I know agents can't reach, so I don't think you need to let them in. the devices will just spawn at random locations.

one tip is to make sure you change your camera angle from time to time as they might be behind a wall that you haven't looked at in a while.

Just convert a small part of your casino in a corridor zone, they will put there all the device needed to complete the task, than you can revert it to casino.
