Minions deserting
I havn't played in a week or 2, but when I loaded up my game, its just a constant wave of minion deserting. What happend? is there is a fix? It seems all my minions morale has just droped to zero for some reason.

have you tried verifing game cache? recently ive had bugs like all items in base beeing gone and sometimes world map beeing gone. but verify cache fixes it.

Loaded up a game with Emma today and all guards at 4 tables left their station with the tired/barracks symbol. Just something learned to accept every time start game.

You may have hired them at the same time. They lacked something, as a result of which their characteristics were exhausted in due time. When I first played this game, it was the same with me. Everything was fine and suddenly a constant desertion began. Try to install items that increase the characteristics of your minions closer to their place of residence and in sufficient quantity so that everyone will have enough.

This isn't the issue. I've played for a quite a bit of time and the base was fine till the last few days. the staff rooms and archive rooms were barely even being used. Now, I load the game, half the minions in the base immediately get the red coffee cup icon and start deserting, and its just a constant wave from there. I noticed that minions for example eating near a morale restoring trashcan/waste bin are still losing morale. and it seems that there is a just a constant and fast drain to all minions morale.

you need to pay them now, salary has major effect on their morale.

No more exploitation of our hard working minions anymore! :steamsad:

But I'm happy for the tech minions. Their hard life has at least a monetary reward now.

I am very shocked. To this day, I thought that in the course of time Denny Crane had found access to his heart. That’s not my Denny Crane!

But on topic. There was a payday in Dungeon Keeper 1+2 as well. And that’s the godfather of these evil kind of games. I can’t remember that anybody complained about it there. Even if I have a hard time imagining an Imp in the grocery store..

Problem is that paydays are 10 minutes apart. Paydays are expensive.

Doing the missions to get the money for paydays takes 2 hours. Used to be 1 hour tops, usually less than half an hour.
Reducing the heat afterwards takes 2 hours. Used to take 30 minutes.

So, including the time to dissipate the heat, 3-4 hours per mission is needed to get the money for approximately 18-24 paydays that take place in that time. You would need to do 4-5 missions simultaneously to have a chance. Then rotate regions the regions while others dissipate heat.

I'm OK with paydays, and I know some minions are supposed to be expensive. But this patch just added lots of balances issues with money by making the consequences of not having it very severe while simultaneously making it harder to get any. In the end you just can't get enough money to keep on top of salaries.

That is now how the money schemes works. You start a scheme, and it gives you X cash every Y seconds, something like 750 gold per 5 seconds. So in 10 minutes, you get 750 * (10*60/5) = 750 * 120 = 90 000 just from one scheme. Run multiple ones side by side and you get more than enough.

If you still can't afford minions, maybe reconsider having to many high tier ones until you have upgraded your networks.

@OTIS: Hm, I understand what you’re saying. Personally I don’t have a problem with the salaries right now. But maybe that’s because I’m in early lategame. With the patch the passively generated money from your criminal networks was buffed a lot. If I remember correctly it was 50 money / 5 sec for a tier 4 network before the patch, now it’s 350 / 5 sec. That’s a huge increase.

On hard difficulty I have to pay around 300.000 money each payday. A significant amount of this is paid from passive income. And I’m far away from having a lot of tier 4 networks.

Little math: One tier 4 network generates 12 (ticks a minute) x 350 (money each tick) x 10 (minutes to payday) = 42.000 money a day. That’s almost 1/6 of my expenses with just one network. And you could have 23 of them, in different tiers of course. And you can run 1-3 longer time shemes.

The broadcast costs for upgrading your networks have been reduced as well, if I have understand it correctly. Upgrading a network from tier 3 to tier 4 now only costs 2 signal power.

So I guess It’s possible to pay the daily salaries. I just think that it would be nice to increase the capacity of the money storage items. So it’s not a fluctuation between full and empty all the time. :D

The problem is that the paydays are too frequent. Increasing the 10 minute intervals to every half hour would have a massive impact on the math.

That and heat dissipation costs intel, a lot if intel. Like 20-40 a piece. With a maximum of 99 intel, and the slow generation of intel, also causes problems.

It is nice to see a patch, but it seemed to cause problems rather than fix them.

750 seems to be max I encountered thus far without maxing the regions yet...
I got to run 2 of those 750/5 secs to barely break even. I can run 2 of these with some luck and maybe one other one (with lower profit) with some luck, and manage the heat alongside it.

Upgrading networks will only help slightly with the passive income, if 750 is the best I can obtain, honestly.

I was struggling with intel as well. Then I decided to relax and let networks go into lockdowns to cool off. I’m just using these heat reducing shemes on networks I want to actively play with. Or the upgraded tier 4 ones, because the difference in passively generated income is that huge now. Before the update it was a difference of 10 money / 5 secs between different kind of networks. Now it’s much bigger, so keep your upgraded networks online I guess. But all in all, I use lockdows more often than heat reduction schemes.

I don’t know if it’s supposed to play like that, but at least it works out for me. :D

What is your daily needed amount of money for the payday? If i might ask you that question.
