Do not research stun weapon series.
Use only one kind of weapon, Pistol for all..later Rifle.
Make sure to have more racks than minions..30 minions = 7 racks of pistol or rifle (35 weapons)
If you don't mind micromanaging a bit, just sell off the lower tier racks... wait for everyone to reequip then re-buy them (I already had my own depot when I did this so it's pretty fast).
I only have the damage weapons, but I found that in a big fight, half of your minions are in melee I wanted to balance between melee and ranged. The issue I have is more that high tier minions are taking all the low tier weapons from the low tier minions.
I guess the easiest solution would be to only have a small number of guards and increase the number of mercenaries.
Yeah the minions seem to prefer getting into fistfights rather than staying back and shoot. Just keep in mind that guards and mercenaries seem to prefer equipping guns over melee weapons. Anyway it's possible that you're not providing enough smgs and staffs for high tier minions.
When I used to have a smaller area there would be a few in melee and a few shooting, but most would just be standing around.
Some say that there is no difference between "damaged caused" by melee, ranged weapons, or bare hand.
Place table a bit far from Armoury entrance to increase the chance for muscle minions choosing ranged weapons..but still some minions will run near the agents and start fighting bare handed.
There's 2 weapon types, 2 melee and 2 ranged in each. I said I was only using damage weapons, that leaves 4 weapons. I said I was using all 4.
I've found out that it just comes down to Mercs not prioritising the combat staff even though it is a weapon that they are capable of using. It a low priority weapon for them.
So the solution is that you just don't use the combat staff until you get the fighter guy.
So Mercs upgrade to a higher tier firearm but not a higher tier melee weapon even if they have the ability to use it. Mercs should be considered firearm users primarily.
Yeah they do for me as well, but it seems that they don't prioritise the combat staff at all even though they can technically use it. They might take 1 but equally they'll take a baton or pistol if there are no smgs available. So you can't plan combat staff into your set up if you are only using Guards and Mercs.
That means your Martial Artists will be the only ones who'll be wielding them and thus all your Mercs can be using guns. Like they should be.
Yeah that's how it worked out when I got martial artists, so its basically fine now. Its just the weapons say that Mercs can use them, so was confused when they did sometimes and didn't other times.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Mercs leave the combat staves alone as they classify pistols to be a better weapon than them. Basically they prefer ranged combat, so I'd recommend increasing the amount of smgs.
Basically how the "tier list" works is this:
Smg > Pistol > Combat Staff > Club > Nothing
Each muscle minion will try and equip the highest tier that they can equip, and if they can't they go down a tier and try the same.
