My male mind instantly thought of Sharon Stone and Basic Instinct
I'd be healed if she was in the game.
Duke, it is not a joke, my idea will improve combat readiness and location security. One can station henchmen at entrance, vault, control room, and casino. This will give some control over the passive combat which happens randomly. Remember that there is a key bind option for seventh floor (future islands will be different)
Your male mind can imagine IRIS sitting in a pink chair at the entrance of liar. Any sight of soldiers, saboteur, Rogue, or Goons will trigger the announcement, “the heat at the criminal network has attracted the forces of justice.”
Do you like the themed chairs for henchmen items DLC?
IRIS: Pink chair
Jubei: Bamboo chair
Incendio: Purple velvet cushion chair
Fugu Furukawa: Restaurant chair
Eli Barracuda: Retro style chair
Clara Jones: Camping chair
Carl Cafard: Plastic Chair
Sir Daniel: Rock
Magnolia Ming: Cylinder bottom chair
Full Metal Jackie: Military green metal chair
Janet Bombe: Landmine/bomb seat chair
Espectro: Alien chair
But back to topic~
It would be nice to limit their patrols, but having a chair that does everything feels like a way to just ‘set and forget’, leashing the henchmen, which is hypocritical of me because this is exactly what I’ve done in my lair by placing a Conference Table near the casino exit.
Their AI really needs a change.
Having henchman using a fancy chair for healing, security, and just general ‘leashing’…no, that doesn’t sit right with me.
Narrative wise, the big chairs (and desks) are for the geniuses, who have clawed their way to the top and can literally sit and lord over it all. Handing out important or decorative chairs for my henchman that allows them to do everything feels like they are getting a bit too much power and importance which I, as the genius, will not tolerate. Even on the Conference Table the geniuses have the biggest chairs.
I think there should/could be a specific security item for henchman, a top-level guard post where you can pick which Henchy guards it (maybe slowly draining stats the same as other posts), or similar to EG1 a door lock level that make henchmen guard that door.
I do really like your thought of Henchman flavored or specific items, and maybe having a room where the henchmen can go ‘relax’ and heal with appropriate items and animations would be great. I.R.I.S could plug into a comically large power point, Jubei could float in the lotus pose over a small Zen garden, or Jackie could have a bar fridge and drink while boxing with a kangaroo. Anything is better than the conference table where they all sit around in awkward silence.
TL: DR, Yes, patrol limit/change AI. No chair/item that does everything for henchmen. Split duty and have separate heal & security item.
Yes, a henchmen station post also works. We already have Egg chair and wall mounted chair. Adding an option for henchmen to use those chairs would also work. We already have those chairs in every room types. So we can station henchmen at any location.
Conference Table, as the name suggests, is best for meeting only. Using that to heal henchmen or moving it out of genius room is a concept failure. On those lines, having a unique chair for every henchman makes sense. It is not about hierarchy status.
That would be complex with 5 different henchmen in game. The game already struggles with the tag zones, We need to pin henchmen to chairs or station posts.
I had 4 henchmen in the lair for Zalika campaign @ Medium difficulty in Caine Key island. None of them are available for fights..they will always be in a different floor or far off location.
You have a better DLC pack or expansion idea than me
Pinning them isn't good for agents that focus on deception and would be best served patrolling the cover operation.
How does the game struggle with the current system? I've found it pretty easy to use, but I don't like that it requires research. Without a keyboard shortcut for tagging groups it really should just be unlocked from the start.
Patrolling will be there as it is. Pinning henchmen to a location either by station posts or chairs will only be a new optional feature (suggested).
Yes, I agree that all intruder protocols should be available when security camera is unlocked. Protocols being a research element does not make sense. It is like they did not have anything else to fill the research tab.
Issues with the tagging are bugs. Tags sometimes will not clear from a zone, when removed.
That is not enough actually. Sometimes you want to send your henchmen to an ambush (like docks) and you cannot put table there for them to wait in there. At least if they stand still for 1 or 2mins when they are sent to a place, it will solve really lots of our headaches.
Also, if you go into High Alert or the power goes out, the Henchmen get up from their seats and go on a wander. Which means High Alert is pretty bad if you want to use for Henchmen for action since they won't stay still.
Conference table is too big and odd to be placed in other rooms. They are best suited for meetings in inner sanctum only. We need something like henchmen station post or chair which can heal and station henchmen at any location.
