Dispelling Spore Clouds?

I decided to go through all of the first level missions for each of the crime lords and I just completed the first side story for Ming. Now it says there is an optional objective of dispelling the spore clouds around my base but I have absolutely no idea how to actually do that.

Listening devices, camera disruptors, planted evidence... it all has to be pixel-hunted and manually removed in build mode. Tedious.

Can't select them from the build menu, or at all for that matter. I got the 5 spore gas canisters for the side story objective, but now there are random clouds of gas appearing around my base and I have no clue how to get rid of them.

I've combed every inch of my base and while I found 2 more spore canisters that I missed, there are still gas clouds that keep spawning all over.

I'm using Emma in my run. Early on the doomsday weapon produces random clouds of purple gas all over the place, killing the already wet-paper-strong death junkies all over the base. Going along the main storyline reduces that, but I still occasionally see unexplained purple clouds in different spots. Maybe that's what's going on with whatever spore clouds are.
A lot of the game seems to work on the "This is how it should be and how we tell you it is, but LOL no we're lying game's broke" principle.

Seems like there's a bug here with them not going away even after you manage to recruit her for a team up. I haven't gotten past the story portion here, so I don't know if there are more missions later, but these green clouds in my base don't go away and it makes doing anything an absolute struggle on normal difficulty. Minions drop left and right, training constantly being interrupted, and when super agents raid the place then the bodies just pile up.

Right now all I'm doing is spending money to recruit workers to keep my incoming minions up, which is where most of my money is going. Tempted to restart completely, but I don't want to throw nearly 20 hours away.

I went back to a previous save. Have yet to try that mission again to see if it works, but when I do I'll let you know if it happens again or not.

I am in the same boat as, not really making any progress since that mission. Now I have the green gas everywhere and no minions to do anything. It also seems to be disrupting my Training so not getting as many specialists. Contemplating starting again or putting the game down till a fix comes out.

Also played so long trying to get past it that my auto save have overridden next save before the mission is 5 - 10 hours of game play missing.

So I saved my game and tried to recruit her a few times and every single time I have tried it has ended with gas in my base that never goes away. I even tried leaving a few of the gas emitters because once the side story is complete there is an optional objective to dispel the 4 of the gas clouds and I thought that maybe if I saved 4 of the emitters until then it might work for that, it didn't. I even tried building fan traps thinking maybe that was how you disperse the gas, it didn't work.

Moral of the story is don't try to recruit Ming until they have fixed whatever bug this is, and if it's not a bug then don't recruit her unless you actually want to play on ultra hardcore mode.
