Research speed multiplier
Does research speed multiplier get locked the moment you start research, or is it dynamic?

I started researching T2 tech that required an impact analyser while only having one of them, and it was taking forever. I then swiftly realised my mistake, bought 4 more and... I still had x1.0 multiplier and the same research speed. I then cancelled the research that only made 15% progress (in approximately 10min) and literally just requeued the exact same research. But now it had x5.0 multiplier and was progressing swiftly.

Am i missing something or is the research multiplier really implemented in such idiotic way?

I'm pretty sure It multiplies with the amount of research equipment you have that apply to that research. Not sure why it wasn't showing initially. Maybe because they weren't staffed?

Here what I notice : One scientist per Research item ( board , bio, centrifuge , hard drive bay) = 1 multiplier. If you have let say : 4 board and all have a scientist ... than you have 4 multiplier, but only one scientist show up for work, and the rest are on coffee brake, even with 4 board available, the multiplier will be 1.

I had 8 scientists, and 7 of then were just lollygagging (despite having new impact analysers already installed) when i ran the research first time, one of then running in to swap with the one doing the work. After i restarted with more equipment already available - 5 were working and only 3 were loitering waiting for their turn. Plus x5 modifier stayed on the research screen even when not all stations were filled, so i assume it means "how many researchers will work simultaneously at most"?

Yep ... the more researchers are - actually working, the faster the research will be finish.

The game need a scheduling. What the point of having more researchers and they all on brake. I prefer set a schedule, one minion work, the other is on brake, when the minion is finish working, the other minion start working. A 24/7 setup. It need a minion schedule and minion assignment. That will solve a lots of issues

My first play through I picked Zalhika. I had her in the lab most of the time spamming her ability that boosts research. Then send her to the impressive desk to recover.

From what I can tell research speed is based on how many are researching at the time. I also found placing chairs in the lab stops a few science minions from wondering about. So they're ready to start research as soon as I press it.
