New Game without tutorial = inbalanced
Since I can't stand when a game constantly tells you what to do, I stopped the tutorial where I had to kill a minion a second time with a witness. (Seriosly that should be optional, what if I don't want to kill my minions?) Anyways starting a new game without tutorial drops you where the tutorlal would have ended, however without all the money, research, minion or world map progress. Which is fine if the rest of the game would act like it too. Instead it leads to a group of 5 (!!!) sodding investigators entering your lair, while you have f-u-k-a-l-l, at a heat level of 2-10. Are you serious? Even EG1 had groups of 1-2 agents in the beginning and gradually getting to groups of 3-5 agents mid to late game, but starting with 5 at a low heat level is pure BS balancing wise. Especially when they need 2 (!) only 2 sodding bullets to kill a worker. Unless you manage to attack them in close quarters you can easily loose 20 minions since remember we are just at the beginning where NOTHING is set up yet, no cameras for minion control, no traps, no valet's, no security, no soldiers, barely scraping enough to build a coms room and covering basic needs. New Game without tutorial needs to be rebalanced.

I play on hardest with no tutorial, it's not broken at all. Just use your genious in defence, with ranged weapon and minions its quite manageable.

You have the boxing trap to begin it. Until when you unlock the technician, the trap are free to maintenance so build some of them to soft up the agents before they get to your main base.

Try to get small inner sanctum to heal your genious because he/she will be your tank for early game

Sure it's managable somehow, I already survived 2 groups, with heavy losses. It's just not well balanced like the classic EG or the tutorial mode, which also sends you one investigator at a time in the beginning. New Game +noTut should start similar low and gradually increase over time, or based on heat, not 5 as a default from the start. Especially when you have very limited direct control over your minions

I just let them do what ever they wanted and leave. First few waves passed just fine.

i started a game and i "never" had to fight a agent. if you distract a agent or build your base in a style agents get no evidences, you dont have to fight.

my impression is, that a lot of people dont know what is the sense of the game.
the sense is not to fight ALL agents.

or am i wrong??

I play on hard, so no matter what you have to kill the agents (they stay in prison for roughly 30 seconds, meaning mass prisoning isin't actual viable) because their resolve will always be better than the casinos ability to drain it.

In general, the casino does not do it's job well, even when you form walls of slot machines to imepede their progress, they play the slots once then beeline for your base.

Funniest thing is that you can ignor agent compleatly for thomething like 5 hours if there are no evidence of sidequest heists on your base, bodies and no prison.

I think this is just going to be a learning growth. I felt myself struggling a few times starting without the tutorial as well; but after a few resets I finally started getting the hold of it and made it past the start without issues.

Do remember to utilize your genius extensively at the start, they generally can take out initial groups with only 1-2 other minions assisting (usually as a wall between enemies and the stronger genius attacks). You'll need to especially watch genius health too at the start until you get the inner sanctum running.

As others pointed out too though suspicion generating objects are rarer early on as well, so you could manage by just distracting them until they leave.

make a sanctum asap and get some crappy traps set up to soften the agents. Your genius has to do most of the fighting themselves at the start of a new game. Emma has the worst of it being the weakest fighter but she quickly makes up for it once she gets a henchman.

I digged a side tunnel near the casino entrance that just loops back into casino. Agents ALWAYS seem to go into it first and foremost, so that's theoretically a good murder/drain site for them. Workers actually avoid it, as there's nothing inside. If only i had time to build up the trap network there before game started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out 5 agent groups at me.

Also, the panic mode seems to lock idle agents in the casino. They just run around it doing nothing, so that should also be good to isolate and kill that one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who went the wrong way.

Problem with distractions is, agents can randomly turn violent when being escorted outside. They'll kill the escort, and then photo the body as incriminating evidence. That kinda kills the whole point of distraction setups.

You can also build small corridor rooms inside the casino zone with doors to waste time of those agents. Agents loves doors so let them try to open/close them while you build up your main base

Could I ask you to post a picture of this set up?

And the game does a horrible job of explaining this aspect, even in the tutorial.

I personally think you are exactly right and have tried to mention this point when I can. You are an evil genius. Not an evil meat factory. You are supposed to work smart and not hard. I don't know why people are fighting so many investigators. You actually want them to leave alive! I left that L-shape hallway between the casino and helipad empty and then the entrance to my base is in the corner. I don't even put traps in that hallway because traps raise suspicion. My investigators get distracted in the casino. Then they go to the hallway where my camera catches them and someone escorts them back to the casino. Rinse and repeat. The rare investigator who makes it to the actual door of my base is super easy to deal with. Heck, my henchman wipes suspicion so even when they are in my actual base i can deal with it quietly.
