Technicans are not repairing
My everything is falling apart and I can no longer play the game because the technicians refuse to do their work, I can't do Schemes because my control room apparatus is broken.

1. I have killed technicians.
2. I have captured and released them.
3. I have switched their priorities to repair back on and off.

They still don't do repairs, at one point I ordered some broken things to be sold and a technician who was standing next to it and not repairing it sold it for me, and followed with loitering instead of fixing other things around him, then I gave up.

maybe something wrong with their stats? if they have low moral or smarts they will just ignore their normal duties

I am having the same issue and they have great morale

I've noticed this a bit but I think it has something to do with the size of the base.

Just as a point others have said, the size of your base can drastically affect your Technicians.

I effectively have limitless money with every region on the world map at Stage 4 Criminal Network and maxxed out 300 minions, but I still require about 70 technicians in my roster.

When you're running 9500 power, $1,600,000 in Vault storage and a bazillion other items across all the other types of rooms, it adds up to a lot of items that need repairing.

I ~could~ build so much more. I have maybe half the basement and all of the 1st and 2nd floors built. I have nothing at all on the 3rd and 4th because if I built anything else, despite my limitless money, the Technicians simply couldnt get to everything in time to keep everything functional.

The Sands of Time is a useful Loot item, unlike most of them. Any items in its radius that lose durability / need repairs are auto-healed and never need attention. Great to put it in a spot with lots of small, individual things like Gun Lockers or Beds or Training Machines.

Yea I know the feeling I havn't gotten that far in the game but I basically made my entire first floor a trap hall way and then when the agents get to the end of the hall(if they survive) I have a group of fans and bumpers to knock them all the way back to the start of the hall.

Only Ivan needs to worry about vault repairs, the gold storage items do not break down over time. Using stairs can help reduce travel distance. I build control room, generators, and training/stat restoration on top of each other and to reduce travel. If you build wide or use maze setups, it increases your technician needs. Venrez is correct that building out the entire base is not feasible.

As your base grows you need to increase your Technicans amount.

The map choice also makes a huge difference in base maintenance. The largest, two legged map is probably the worst. It has the majority of the base on the top and bottom floors, with tiny pillar floors in between. The long staircases are a huge drag on pathing. The central helipad map is far smoother, with a large main floor next to a jumbo basement and decent upper floors.

The sands of time is a great boost to base maintenance, but ultimately a drop in the river. The healing aura gives fixed regen to anything in range, so it works best with a ton of small devices like beds.

The combination of mega vault+generator adds a ton of base maintenance as you scale up. Tragically, the overall space efficiency is not very different to using medium tier shelves. After all, you're using a gigantic generator room just to store money. So instead of 1 tile for $10k gold it's really 5'ish tiles for $10k gold, after including generator support. Stick to medium tier shelves for disgusting 1/4 map vaults.

Just turn off the mega vaults. They still hold gold while unpowered. The value of your time individually turning them off is another story.
