STAGING BRANCH EXPLAINED

EXPLANATION:
Rust Staging Branch is an entirely separate platform from the survival game we all know and love. It essentially gives players and fans the opportunity to beta test new game mechanics. (At the time of this review, cars, as well as smart alarms and switches, would be good examples.) It does require some prior knowledge, but as long as you can recognize how it is different from Rust, the Staging Branch might prove to be a good tool. You get to have some buggy fun, and help the Facepunch dev team!

Here's the confusing part:
If you fire up SB, it will appear as a normal Rust session. You will see the title screen with the standard prompts and options. One thing you may notice is all settings are set to default. Other than that, everything should look totally normal. Don't be fooled!

Thanks, I was hoping this would help some people, as it's hard to get a straight answer these days. I know it confused me at first! If you're new to rust, maybe consider the AJKora server? Its a small map size and good for new players and practice. We're all very accepting!

This seems to be a recurring issue for players. Did you change SB's launch protocal to "alpha 1" to test cars?
