After further use, this is a really nice bit of software I can recomend. It has video transforming, rotating, fliping, scaling, etc. The UI is a little clumbsy from where they're tried to also make it idiot proof I think, but once you get your head around it, it's a fully-fledged video editing software.

Wanted to buy Vegas Pro originally, but gave this software a chance since it’s cheaper. Surprisingly, this software is more than enough for editing my videos and pretty easy to master too! I did not encounter any crash or lags while using this for 2 hours straight so I say give this software a go, if you don’t like it just refund it.

The program is practical, and easy to navigate. Have alot of powerfull tools. But one thing that I really wish the program have is the ability to have linear wipe. Not as a transition template, but as a keyframe option. Similar to the blur tool. Linear wipe is used alot in intros and transitions to! So having the keyframe option will be nice. Also more flexibility to add transition in the second layer. Overall I think this program is pretty cool to be used.

Bad, Crashes all the time.

Would be decent if it didn't hang every 5 minutes.

In short: I am very happy with this application, runs well and smooth on my Ryzen 1700x with 16GB of ram. Interface works fine, there are some minor gripes with inserting video files and managing a project. But all in all, wonderful experience.

Video editing is just a hobby, making family vacation videos and so called music videos, where you pick a catchy song and make a video montage that gives you a rush of emotion on top of said song.

I have used Pinacle Studio 9 and Ulead Media Studio 10 before in the start of the millennium and was able to get a whole lot done. Easy to use programs, with transition effects that where very easy to use.

Over time I have tried and retried many times to get in to the Adobe suite, Premiere and After Effects.
It is really good software, stable in usage and exporting, works flawlessly together with alle the Adobe products.

But working between provided student licenses, trials or investing hundreds of euro’s in this hobby to buy the Adobe suite.

Then on top of that the recent shift to a subscription monthly based model where I would not longer even be able to export my project when the subscription ends I had to make a move to something more sustainable. Having to break my head over what application to pick that I could rely on to be available in the future so I can go back to old projects and make changes.

So I remember using Magix Music Maker and just loving how easy that was to use for audio editing I was surprised to find this. Grabbing it on sale, I had to give it a go.

For me this application hits a perfect middle point between a very basic editor like Microsoft Movie maker and Adobe Premiere, as it has a lot of options, but it does not overwhelm.
Interface is intuitive and fluent.

Trying to organize files for your project is a bit of a shore, I wish could be made easier. Not sure what I am looking for in this department, but I feel that opening larger and longer video’s I should be able to more easily cut them up in scenes or segments, but keep original files in tact. And click through both of those to find what I am looking for. If you organize the cuts and label things accordingly, then you are golden with this application.

But the actual editing on a time line, dragging clips in place, lengthening or shortening their run time, adding effects, doing some balancing or changing volume and fade level all works just so nicely. Inserted effects and edits are clear and with a couple of clicks you have another run of edits done. And any change is just a CTRL + Z rollback away from your finger tips.

Scrubbing (scrolling through the video) works well. It could be a bit better optimized as parts with transitions sometimes clog up a first time you touch them and sometimes. I wish for some more fine grained controls to make something happen on an exact hundred of a second or frame, but that might be my own limitation. Their might be ways to do it, they might need learning more about the application. But apart from those minor gripes it just works, your average joe car gets you from A to B, just not as quick as the rich kids car.

Exporting also has a lot of options and works fine, dandy stable, all you wish from it. Other applications might be quicker, using more cores or leveraging the GPU, ugh fine, I don’t care. This gets the job done and does it in a reasonable time and it has not let me down yet, which other applications of my past have.

The other day I started it up, opened up one of my old projects which I have not touched for more then a year and within seconds I was editing again and making improvements as if no time has passed.

Speaking as a video editor as a side hobby, I really enjoy using this software.

This software is a definite improvement over the 2017 editions. It is easy to use with a very easy to navigate UI, a myriad of tutorials and features the ability to render the video with your GPU to speed up the process.
I highly recommend this software as an alternative to Adobe.
