Severely bugged-up physics
I used to be able to play this game pretty well, but attempting it this time has been an exercise in frustration. The game's physics - what little there is - are bugged up considerably in small but obtrusive way. Kicking open doors, for instance, just doesn't work most of the time. This is a problem, since one of the hidden secrets in Peru is inside a cabinet I can't kick open. Eventually, I managed to manoeuvre to the side of it and kick it that way to push the doors open. Swinging on bars is all kinds of broken, with Lara constantly deviating off to the side and swinging parallel to the bar, THROUGH it essentially.

Ladders are all but useless as Lara will climb them at whatever angle she made contact with them, usually sideways. This makes jumping puzzles involving ladders very difficult as she keeps jumping away or into the wall, but almost never properly sideways. And that's when she doesn't clip into the ladder and climb it from the inside. The same is true of doors in the Croft Mansion, where she can get turned around, open a door from the "inside," go through the animation but not actually enter it. Game breaks at that point.

The last one which made me give up is the very first secret item in England, where Lara has to climb up into a small overhead vent. Well, the game's physics just push her out of the vent, making it impossible to climb.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? How I can fix it, maybe? I love Tomb Raider Legend dearly, but between the bugged up Next Generation Thing and now the numerous physics issues, it's becoming impossible to play.

Have you turned v-sync on?

No. Will that help? Let me go try.

It might help. It worked on the other Tomb Raider games.

Son of a... OK, that worked :) I'm playing the game at 120 FPS and now that I enabled vsync from the options menu it seems to work on at least the vent I was trying to get into. Thank you kindly, I'll go test the other issues I was having.

*edit*
Now all I need is a fix for the weird transparent textures and misplaced ziplines with Next Generation Content on...

It actually turned out to be Vsync. Once I turned it on, the game's physics improved dramatically and lara started climbing ladders straight.

I want to try that too, turning on Vsync, but can't find it in the Options menu. Is it in another part of my computer settings maybe? I don't even know what Vsync is, so maybe it is a concept and I can't find the words to match.... I can't get Lara to do simple left, right, forward, back, without her always trying to go in a circle.

Nevermind, I found it in the first box that comes on when entering the game, under "settings" I think.
