Serpent Boss dodges like a magician

Trying to drop the 4 cages on the Serpent's head. I've read and watched the walkthroughs. The problem is every time I try to drop a cage on it's head, he pulls away, dodging it. What am I doing wrong?

You need to stun it first. Shoot the bells, which will lure it to the cages and keep it distracted, then you can drop the cages.

I've done all that (I've watched youtube walkthroughs, etc). He looks at the cage, and everything works like it should, but when I pull the lever to lower the cage, he easily dodges it every time. Out of many tries, I've only successfully lowered the cage on him once.

It's all in the timing. It can be tricky sometimes. The stun doesn't last for very long. If it still doesn't work no matter what, then it might be some kind of glitch. Check your frame rate and cap it down to 60. Some games don't work properly if they're running faster. You can also try turning off the next gen content option. That can cause glitches with things sometimes. But if you did it once before, then I'm still willing to bet you're just missing the window to drop the cage.

These Tomb Raider bosses seem pretty difficult, even on the EASY game setting (which is what I've been using). I think I was experiencing the glitch at first, but then accidentally erased my saved game, so had to backtrack. After that, the a glitch doesn't seem to be the problem, as I was able to drop the cage (only once) on the serpent's head. I'll experiment with the frame rate, as you suggested. Next Gen has been off, since I read that it does cause some problems. Overall, it feels like input lag/slow response might be the problem, but of course, practice and experience is also a big factor.

So I'll repost this here:
You have to manually holster your weapon (it's the Lock Target key, but you can alo double-tap Manual Aim for same effect) when it starts turning, and hit the grapple ASAP.
The far left statue is difficult to grapple - you have to stand on the very corner of the ruined bridge, otherwise Lara will keep grappling the far right statue instead.

It's funny how I struggled with this section on console and only just recently replayed on pc with no problems. Even the driving sections were easy...ish

Did you use a controller on pc? From what I've read, controller is supposed to be easier for this game(?)

Ya, xbox one. I just finished the game. That ending has me puzzled. I was expecting another level to start and bang.. credits roll. Im gonna have to google this!
BTW controller is very good on this game , just make sure to lock game to 60fps.

there's only one boss fight that matches OP's description. If you don't recognize it, you aren't far enough in the game yet.

For me, the grapple in this part doesn't initiate or work at all. I can only shoot at the bells and the grapple won't work. If strange as I used the grapple on the room just before this part on the chandelier. Anyone have this occur or know what the problem is?

why not use the airwalk glitch to skip the boss entirely? itll still count as you getting that fragment inside that church building despite not going there lol
