Tomb Raider: Legend won't let me enable Gamepad

For some reason the gamepad option is automatically disabled and it won't let me enable it. Is there some way to enable it that I'm missing?

Go into game's Properties -> Controller -> Enable Steam Input. This will enable all pads or whatever, there should be blue bloomy dot next to the one you use, if there is none dot, restart Steam. Otherwise there is something ain't right with your controller.

Wont work for me either. disabled re-enabled, and used community loadouts and I can't even click anything in menu...

I did that and it's still not letting me enable Gamepad. There definitely was a dot next to my Xbox controller, and I am playing another game just fine with it (throws hands up in frustration)

Start the game, Turn on controller/plug in, restart the game. This worked for me.

I’m trying this too, option in the in game options won’t enable game pad when i press the option.
