Tomb Raider: Legend

I still can't save.
I have never been able to play this game. It always says "Unable to save", when I try to save. The Checkpoints never seem to have issues but when I go to the menu or reenter the game and try to resume, there is no save, either auto or manual. No option for continue. I have tried the thing where you copy the autosav.dat file and rename it in the other folder, that didn't work. The game opened up with saying there was a corruption of the autosave file. Then when I try to load the .dat files that are set in as saves, those too are corrupted and unable to load.

Please help, I have had no help from support, I can't find anything on the internet.

I am running windows 10.

compatibity mode (WinXP SP3)
if you have the game installed on your C drive (especially if you did not modify the default steam sets) you might need to give the program admin privlages.(might want to try this anyways)
make sure the file the save files are not being placed into a right-protected folder.

OK I finally got the game to load (don't know how) but can't save and the checkpoints won't save.

Gardian06 if the game runs under steam, how do you give it admin rights and run under compatible mode?

if steam does not have admin rights, and refuses to launch admin games then you can launch the game through the exe in many cases the game will call the steam api on launch (for controller/overlay/achievements)
for compatibility mode steam api often does not work, but you can launch it through steam.

personally I would suggest trying one at a time, and over the years I have come to distrust giving games admin rights if I can help it, for everything that admin rights entail.

if you are asking about how to do these things in general
go to the game's directory (in the steam library right click the game in the left hand list, left click "manage" choose "Browse local Files")
find the games exe, right click -> properties -> compatibility

Weirdly, having this same issue. No effect of compatibility mode with XP SP3, run as admin or allowing the game with windows defender. No other anti virus programs. Issue's not listed on PC Gaming Wiki either. Strange... anybody know of any help for this, would be appreciated.

Hello. I had the exact same saving problem as you. There is a simple solution to this issue. Every time you finish a level and you are ready to collect your rewards. Press Esc on your keyboard.

And click on, "Save Rewards". This option will be there for you. Also, it would be even better, if you save your progress after each mission or challenge is completed.

I am playing this game on gog Galaxy. So, I have no idea what is going on with the Steam version. And if my solution will actually work in Steam. I would strongly recommend the gog version though. For many, serious reasons.

That is all. Hope I helped.

PS: Also check this link. It is very useful indeed!

The solve for this problem is by download patch Tomb Raider Legend - PC Patch - v1.1 or Tomb Raider Legend - PC Patch - v1.2 - and install it ; https://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr7/updates.html hope is works and running as admin, not sure what else could be done, probably access denied to the disk. so admin it is as well..
