Crashes BEFORE Title Ever Loads, DEP Fix Doesn't Work!!!
I have spent two days in my hours after work trying non-stop to get tomb raider legend, anniversary and underworld to load on my pc... using everything i can find online to help me, but still to no success.. please help, i'll try anything at this point. i am shocked i am the only one DEP settings doesn't fix this for. so here's what i've got, and what i've done...

Basically i'm on a Acer Nitro 5 laptop with an Intel i5-10300H @ 2.5GHz, 32GB ram, with windows 10, 64-bit. Don't think it matters in this rare case that i even have a graphics card, but incase...it is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050. I've got 6tb's in this bad girl and i just did a OS 2tb m.2 swap process where i removed the stock 256gb m.2 with all the laptops initial drivers and bootloader, i had to manually goto the acer website and download each and every driver manually for the first time so i guess theres always a possibility i'm missing some driver here but honestly i've been reinstalling all 180+ of my steam games, which requires an initial launch for runtime installations and other frameworks to process that the game is also infact verified that i actually own the legal license from steam... for offline use later ofcourse... and so far, i've got everything working perfect... except these 3 games. we're talking every doom, every resident evil, the new forza and gtfo, hunt showdown, warzone, i've got it all working..

So i went into my advanced system settings and located the Data Execution Prevention or DEP program, and i've selected "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select" and i've added trl.exe/ tra.exe/ tru.exe (all 3 different games main executables) to the DEP list. i hit apply, and i even restart my pc, lets do it right shall we?

***Now This would actually be where most people find the solution, and from what i gather it is the solution... so yeah,,, but not for me?***
I actually saw someone from a GOG.com forum stated that they copied there .exe and basically replaced the stock .exe with the copy, and then re-set the DEP to this new copy.exe of the original, somehow fixed it for them aswell... tried it, sorry but still no.

I've Gone into my NVIDIA control panel, navigated to "Manage 3D Settings" >> Program Settings, Added the 3 aforementioned .exe's, optimizing them for High-Performance NVIDIA Processor, and specifying to turn on FXAA/MFAA and Strictly setting Antialiasing - Setting to 8x... this is actually how i ended up getting other tomb raider games to work, so i had kinda started here.. but it really doesn't seem to fix it with these 3 tomb raider games.

Then ofcourse i've lastly tried the most obvious things, like right clicking the .exe itself and running compatibility mode in windows 7, or running as administrator and that doesn't do it for me, i tried thoroughly for all the .exe's aswell... not a one made it to the title screen, i never see a single word from the dev's in any launch sequence...

The Errors i get, at the top say "Error out of Table Range" and i open it to see the details and it says "Disc Error" theres another one that i saw... and i believe it said "Failed to load Bigfile.exe" or .??? something... it was a "Bigfile" lol well... yeah thats about it folks, oh and i've naturally deleted the entire game, searched %appdata and basically re-downloaded the game about 5x... honestly, maybe more then 5x for one of the 3 games.. i also don did the verify integrity of files on steam 100x over easily....

With that, i feel like i'm that one guy again, who just couldn't be normal... plz help.

The same thing is happening to me. DEP fix doesn't work too. I don't know what to do anymore.

Sorry to double post but I actually found a fix, at least it worked for me:

1 - Go to Windows Defender app
2 - Go to Browser Control
3 - Go to Exploit and protection
4 - Scroll down and turn DEP off.
5 - Save the settings, restart your computer and you're good to go
