I find muting the music somewhat diminishes it, but it's still an occasional issue.
Everything else about the game is running smoothly so far, at least.
However, the 'SFX' and 'Music' levels should be reduced as they cause problems, with the 'SFX' giving the loudest popping sounds.
I have reduced the 'SFX' volume level to 19 and turned the 'Music' off entirely to reduce my annoyance levels with the sound issue. If you want 'Music' on, I'd suggest setting it to ~25.
1. Download Ultimate ASI Loader from GitHub - https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases
2. Open winRAR or 7zip, and extract the "dinput8.dll" file inside the archive to your Desktop, then rename the file from "dinput8.dll" to "binkw32.dll".
3. Open your TR: Legend game directory (where the trl.exe file is), and move the binkw32.dll file from your DESKTOP to your "Tomb Raider Legend" game directory.
4. Confirm the REPLACEMENT of the files, and enjoy no crackling sound.
This fix is confirmed working on Windows 10 for Tomb Raider: Legend v1.2 from STEAM!
Thanks!
