Tomb Raider: Legend

Tomb Raider: Legend

What should I play after Tomb Raider: Legend to continue the story?
Hello :-)

So I just finished Tomb Raider: Legend and was quite surprised by the very open ending. It was surely a cliffhanger, and now I'm not sure which game I should play next to continue this story.

It would make sense if it was Tomb Raider: Anniversary, since it was released the year after Legend, but I read somewhere that Underworld is the sequel. Can anybody help me here?

Best regards

Now, Underworld does continue that story line, it's just a while later.

Anniversary really doesn't play into this at all EXCEPT that you'll meet a baddie in Underworld that's oddly familiar, and... she's from Anniversary. So yeah, Lara knows her and you won't know how unless you've played Anniversary, but that's all there is.

Anniversary doesn't affect the Legend/Underworld story because it's a rehash of the very first TR game, so it just doesn't know anything about TR-Legend, doesn't have the supporting cast etc.

Thank you very much for your reply!

I have both Anniversary and Underworld, and I've decided to play through them anyway, but it's a shame that there isn't a direct pick up from that major cliffhanger - I'm glad that some of it gets picked up in Underworld though! :-)

I guess it would be best to start with Underworld then, if Anniversary is like a world of its own.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine.

I mean, I kind of focused on Lara meeting someone that she knows from Anniversary like it's a big deal, but if I think about it -- Lara went to places in Legend because there's someone she knows, or because someone told her to go there, and those people never got introduced at all. People just know other people, that's just how it is :-)

Yeah I think you're right!

I am in the middle of Underworld now, and I'm actually glad I chose this, because it makes much more sense (I have tried playing through all the 3 games before, without finishing them).
So thanks for the advice! :-)

I think Anniversary should be played first to understand the villains in Underworld

I have actually finished Legend and Underworld now, and is currently playing Anniversary. I think you're right in that way, because I just met the woman from Atlantis again, just from the beginning, wheras I met her at the end in the other games, if that makes sense.
