Game won't launch (SOLVED)
Verified game files :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Installed the latest GPU driver :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Game launched in compatibility mode :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Game launched from another computer :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Game launched with administrator rights :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Changed the language in my OS and Steam to English :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Deleted game from the local steam folder/uninstalled and re-installed :47_thumb_down: didn't work.
Went back to an earlier state of the game using the depot method :47_thumb_down: didn't work.

The big question, why are players reporting this issue? Why has the game not been updated since 2019? Will the developer fix this issue or will he still refer using the Steam support, because I honestly don't see how this is Steam related, since other players are running the game fine.

I found this to be an issue with 10th & 11th Gen CPU's causing the game crashing upon launch. The issue is related to a bug in OpenSSL 1.2
Any game that currently uses this version will have issues, this also includes Unreal Engine 4.21

This is what I did;

Step 1. Open "Control Panel" by searching for it in Windows search bar, by pressing the Windows button or key.
Step 2. Go to "System & Security"
Step 3. Go to "System"
Step 3. Press "Advanced system settings"
Step 4. Press "Environmental Variables"
Step 5. Create a new "System Variable" (NOT USER VARIABLE)
Step 6. Enter the following into the Variable name box: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Step 7. Enter the following into the Variable value box: ~0x20000000
Step 8. Now press OK.

Try starting the game again, you may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect.

Unfortunately all that's mostly left around here is me every couple of months + occasional dev and I don't have the knowledge for this type of problem solving..

However, considering the issue is indeed repetitive among posters, should anyone comment on their success with this, I might pin it.

Thank you for contributing a detailed solution.
