At this point, it's a dead horse, this topic. Adding in the opposite gender model of the ones in the game currently is the equivalent of adding in a new class. You can get new classes or you can get other genders. The choice is pretty clear IMO.

No I won't. I am not some child who demands their every wish be granted because they think it's a good idea. I live in the real world, things take time, energy and effort. Two people cannot magically snap their hands and make it so (two people is the dev team, btw).
So yeah, sure - would it be nice to have different choices for the classes? Yes, it would. But when developing a game, you have to make sacrifices in order to actually make the game. This is one of them. People wanted more classes, so that is the road taken.
It seems that 'people' also want more customization options and that changing the gender of the portrait makes sense.
