Common issues and their Solutions

Those are common issues that some players have been getting and their solution. If the solution doesn't work for you for some reason, feel free to let us (there's usually a bug report about the issue already as well, with detailed information)

Cannot save correctly as the game mentions an error every time:
This is most likely your anti-virus preventing the game from saving in the "My Documents/Fell Seal" folder. We've noticed many anti-viruses seem to dislike that.
The solution is to create an exception for Fell Seal with your anti-virus so it allows us to save files correctly.


Game screen flickering:
Background turning black during cutscenes and on the worldmap:
If the game flickers or has shearing, the most likely reason is having Vsync turned off for Fell Seal. As the game's natural fps can be very high it can cause issues.
The most likely reason vsync is disabled is that your video card drivers are overriding Fell Seal's setting, as there is no way to turn vsync off within the game (it's always on by default). Changing the setting in your drivers for vsync to "application controlled" or "on" should fixe it.

General issues and modding issues:
With any other issue, it might be worthwhile to check for error logs. Those are in "My Documents\Fell Seal" on Windows and "~/Fell Seal/" on Mac/Linux. Those files are human readable text files and might have a clue as to what's happening. Adding those to any bug report (if there are any) wil also help us figure it out quicker!

Lastly, it might be a good idea to verify local files integrity if you run into any crash, just in case :)
