Is this game dead?

For real now, ever since they rebalanced things and whatnot. I can't get back into it. Barely anyone playing. The new stuff is too overwhelming for me at this point, not to mention that I have to redo it all now to get my stuff back to a point that makes the game playable. And the people you play with don't even understand the basics. Was the restard for the game a bad thing, or did I just grow out of it?

No the game is not dead. Make sure you have cross-play enabled and try different difficulty levels or modes. I think most people play at least on Hard difficulty level regular maps and Normal difficulty levels challenges.

Purely subjective, I think after last patch there is some problem with matchmaking, it sometime kinda get stuck and you cannot find anyone. In that case try to change searching queue to regular map, challenge map, horde mode or restart a game.

I can always get a team in 3 mins by clicking quick play. More people on challenges missions though. (earning blue coins)

I also feel like the playerbases has been exchanged, alot of people not knowing anything. Not to be mean but if i shoot those boom-zombies in the feet and they fall down,the others keep shooting at them and so on, the list is very long.

I mean I still find people but it takes very long and most of them play like they belong on a lower difficulty often, not to say they can't try but I also blame the devs for not mentioning the mechanics of most stuff.

What do you mean they reset things? The level progress on guns/skins? The DLC thing was/is stupid and made the DLC that is now only purchasable on Nintendo switch available in the Aftermath version of the game. I lost those skins that I paid for until I got the after DLC on PS4 (but IDC). The levels you gained is fine, the old way was pretty much leveling to 15 in order to get the suppressor unlocked. If the gun was lv15, it will now be lv5 and have an option to enable/disable the suppressor.

Hm, I'd say leveling up each weapon, then buying a perk slot etc. And my classes were on 0 after that reset I mentioned. I don't know how to say it, i think that rework of the classes and weapons. I just am overwhelmed at this point since I was too used to the old way the things used to function.

Oh I forgot that you can now prestige classes, but that is optional. It should not have reset everything to 0 unless you bought the prestige for that specific class (7500 coins).
The saves are local, so if you also deleted your games folder after uninstalling...I guess that could have done it.

I woul just play Horde XL Tokyo to lv up again. it takes about 3 hours to level a class to 30 now. The rewards cap at wave 38.

I think I will be giving up on this game. Not to mention that I barely find proper people to play with, no insult intended but shooting claymore mines while somebody tries to "hack" them is already an indicator of what's wrong with the community lately.

Not completely, but yeah, it's dying. Saber is doing a stellar job of killing it off. Maybe they're just hoping everybody gets fed up with the game's brokenness, quit playing and jump on the Toxic Commando sales train this summer 2024. It's basically a copypasta of WWZ, but different assets, monsters, slightly different theme, etc.
