How is multiplayer? Easy to find other players?

Is it like left4dead2 where you simply find a server in the browser and then join a game? Is it easy to find other players for coop? Or is it a mess?

I was thinking about buying the game now that its on sale, but im only interested if the coop/multiplayer is easy to find other players... I heard bad things, so how is it?

Long story short, the bad things you heard are most likely all true.

The long story.

Nope. No server browser in this game. Been asked for many times, but it's been blatantly ignored. Game has one of the stupidest match making process ever as it relies on the WWZ Services servers to do the matchmaking. Sometimes it can be easy to find a co-op match, but sometimes not. Sometimes it can in fact be a mess. It really depends on your geographical location and how close you are to the little remaining regional servers still in operation. Also, if the services screw up or go down, bye bye multiplayer co-op.

While the game can be fun with friends when it's working properly, it often bugs out, something glitches or bugs that have existed for a long time surface during play sessions. It can be extremely annoying and frustrating to deal with, but if you're OK with that sort of thing, then maybe you'd like the game.

It's easier to go on discord and join the official discord server and find co-op players that way, also you can cross-platform game and have Voice Chat when you use discord. the in-game voice chat doesn't work in cross-platform
I hate to say it but the EPIC supported version of this game made it way easier to friend someone and invite them into a match. but either way discord makes it easier to find matches IMO. the in-game match making needs work , https://discord.gg/3EErn36V

IMO I can't recommend this. It's better to play with friends they already know or find players here. Say one thing on that discord server that mods don't agree with or like and poof - permaban. Bias has been known to take the wheel around there on several occasions. There are reasons the WWZ discord community is only around 6,000~ active members out of 37.8K total members.

It's literally 1 click and (usually) a 1 minute wait and you got yourself a team. Can this game be played with randoms? Yes. Is it better if you have friends? Also yes. It's a good game. Devs are working on it, adding things to it like 1 to 3 times per year, they are fixing bugs, etc. You can easily get a solid 50 hours of gameplay from this game.

Uhuh, they're working on it alright just like they're working fixing ghosting Zeke that has been a thing since day one, Been over half a year now since the VOTZ DLC game update dropped and the Juggernaut is still broken. That's just two examples among many that shouldn't even exist in this game present day. That's not even touching the tip of the iceberg of problems that have existed for literally years.

I've made friends and even started playing a few other games I probably would not have played with groups because of friends I made in WWZ discord .

I did try it. They didn't like what I had to say and permabanned me. That's why I'm not there. Great things are working out for you there, but my guess is you haven't had much interaction with moderators around there beyond small talk so everything would seem perfectly fine to you.

Again I must stress this. There are reasons the WWZ discord community is only around 6,000~ active members out of 37.8K total members. There are reasons thousands of players have never returned to that discord server.

Auto match making so it's generally easy to find other players. The only mode that's hard to find players in is the PVP mode.

While the are all levels of players I've not had trouble finishing every weekly challenge with randos. Though if you plan to do the weekly challenge you may want watch some videos on class roles, where the breaching chargers are ect.. so you can be more helpful than a bot.

Sure, if you're generally close to WWZ servers then yeah, life is grand and it's easy to find matches. Try living half or an entire continent away from one of those servers you can reach. You'd sing a different tune if you were. XD
