I want both. The one on the left has the movie as a bonus, which gives me the motivation to keep playing. The gameplay is not bad either. The pure shooting game on the right is very stress-relieving and you can play mods.
Left for Dead 2 is cheaper and the gameplay is in general a simple and straightforward FPS. It also has a lot of mods, making it quite customizable. It also has the benefit of having a much more lively multiplayer scene.

World War Z does have better graphics, and is a spin off of a novel and movie. Lots of skills/classes/level ups, and more weapons overall.

Overall, both are great games but I personally prefer LFD2 is better.

WWZ more class/tactics and teamwork oriented, varied scenarios and unique story driven level designs with modern game-engine, L4D is sadly copy-pasta game-play on every map but has amazing ambiance and vibe to it, hence I think why people love it etc. :ridden_thumbsup:

The movie is truly awful compared to the book, which is totally out of this world. It's such a unique writing style and bears essentially nothing in common with a movie that is basically IP theft that doesn't touch the actual setting, world, or internal logic.

It's totally worth reading the WWZ book for sure, 100%!!!!!!!!!!

Still really like both games, and the WWZ game is actually much more in line with the book then the movie ever could have tried to be, in a million million years.
WWZ for the QoL and better graphics and weapomn customization. Whish WWZ had more skins and more levels and more unlockables.
L4D2. The friendly AI makes the difference. WWZ AI is lobotomized and a detriment.
WWZ all day. L4D1-2 is a bit too old these days.

Which do folks think have better mods available, and does that change ur answer?
For me, that brings it to L4D2 by a hair as better.
Modding used to be in it's prime time way back in early 2000's up to 2013~-/+, that's where most of current employed coders and artists made their portfolio projects. Now I witness it is just over-saturated with junk material. So, having mod support is no longer a valid positive point. imho.'
(And actually I'm glad most games don't have it, after witnessing the 'modern' modding trends.
Especially when now days, coders and artists have access to programs such as Unity 3D, Godot and the new Unreal Engines, there is no need to games to have modding tools to express themselves, contrary to the early era of PC gaming when only few and complex game-engines freely available and few games like Half-Life and Quake that had tools for modding that popularized it).

Though a restricted (like Trackmania style) level editor would be interesting, and could really change the game over-all for long-term :)

That is when I was playing L4D2 mostly, pre 2013ish, so maybe my sample is biased.

I really a fan of Deep Rock Galatic, they have a ton of cool mods. Just wish DRG had steam-workshop for mods in addition to mod.io
for class wise WWZ gampolay im go with left L4D2
Gameplay and graphics, I prefer WWZ. For multiplayer, L4D2 - it's much more stable and you can even play over LAN.
