How Do Prestige Ranks Work?

I'm having trouble finding anything about how ranking for a class works in this game. I have a couple of questions, like how many times can you prestige a class?

One perma passive perk for P1 - P4.
Golden Frame for P3 & P4.
Diamond Frame for P5.
After that, no more gains.
You can prestige unlimited times tho. If you enjoy leveling f.e.

When you prestige a class it basically resets it to level 1 and adds you small permanent boost, e.g. kill 10% more zombies with grenades.

You need around 7500 gold for reset alone, then you need to pay with gold currency for each level unlock again up to level 30.

I think you can prestige a class 10 times or unlimited number of times.
Initially you could prestige any class just five times, same as for weapons but system was reworked later (weapons can now level 15 times for example).

After prestige level 4 you don't get any boost / perks. Level 5 give you different frame around your avatar with blue color. Previous levels change that frame color to yellow / gold.

Prestige class are meant for dedicated players / fans who want to have a sense of progression after you max out level on all classes.
Or people who want o get the most of their favorite class.

Only if you want a blue frame otherwise no

Thanks, I just used over 20000 gold for it....

Prestige. I think I would have preferred the original game that limited gun progress to 5 levels and (I think) had no bonus perks for farming gold (although I got to listen to a lot of good podcasts while farming). Left 4 Dead 2 has a lot going for it, just giving all the players equal stats, regardless of previous playtime.

Im also a big fan of Left 4 Dead. it's sad that this game design went on another path. .
