How to actually order a bot to pick up items?

Because, oh my god... This is frustrating more than it should. How is the "right" way to make this happen?

first thing is - I dont know why so dont ask me - but you need to press the "pick up order" button TWICE

second thing is - they can take up to 5 SECONDS to actualy start completing the command

thrid thing - if they get "distaracted" - like for example zombies show up - they will ditch the order and never do it again unless you order them to do it again

4th thing - there are SOME spawn points where bots will just not pick up stuff

if nothing is attacking you - you press the order button twice - wait 5s and they still wont pick it up - they will never do itt - just dont waste your time and nerves

how it works now - no zombies around - you press "order" button twice - wait around 5 seconds and bot will go and pick up the item (if they dont have it on them already)

also they wont pick up adrenaline and bandages

haha thank you so much for the explanation. The "pick up order" is the one that makes our character talk about the item? I play with a gamepad, to do that I press up in the d-pad.

I was trying to press up while pointing to a medkit or a special gun then pointing to one of the bots. Sometimes, they would pick up the item by themselves. For example, I was growing white hairs here trying to make Angel pick up a medkit, then Arnetta would say something and pick up a grenade launcher that I didn't even see lol

I will play more tomorrow and I will try again using your suggestions. So, thanks and good night!

If you play with a game-pad then tap right in the d-pad, your character will comment about the item without highlighting it.

If you want to command the bot to heal up, then tap left in the d-pad. Your character will comment about "Healing" the bot.

Tap down in the d-pad if you want the bot to hand you a med-kit (If they are currently holding one).

Note that you should only tap the D-pad. If you hold it down for a bit then you will either comment Good Job or Sorry instead.

yeah its the one that makes your character say sth "Over here" or "Look at this" depending on the character but something to that extent

pointing is usless as I found out - you just have to stand relatively near the item - press the button TWICE and wait...

Doesn't work, tried solo in subway. Nobody picks up a crates besides me. No enemies around, hit the button once and twice, waiting for several seconds, nothing...

ahhh.... mate you thought bots would pick up objective crates?

bots pick up heavy weapons and medkits - that's it

keep in mind they will ignore heart medicine/adrenaline for some reason

edit: hmm, do they also not like bandaids? i thought they picked those up too but im having trouble bossing them around on xbone

because there no lines in their coding mention those

Just use command "replenish supplies" - I don’t know what exactly it is called in the english version, by default it is assigned to the G key.
just double tap on it, aiming at the desired item, and the bot will pick it up in a few seconds, if possible.

no need for aiming - just be close to the item - I tested it and aiming or even pinging dosent change anything
