Playing in oflfine mode, you can repeat 1 challenge as often as you want.
It's about 3 hours for 9x the same mission. A bit boring and ofc time consuming.
I got all my docs after 2 weeks after starting playing.
BUT, do not invest too much time/energy if you don't want to. Those doc perks are not a game changer.
If one thing is ridiculous, then it's the tiny percentage you get to trigger that perk.
There are perks I've seen once in like 1k hours of playing.
IF you only have an hour or two to play every so often you will NEVER get it.. I certainly won't before my group is done with our one playthrough of the campaing and puts the game in the dustbin because the incentive to get the perks and coins to USE while doing the campaign is gone. Why restrict access to the right map to some random day and time? What purpose does it serve?
They rotate every hour. But there is a chance the same map will be in next roster with just different mutator set.
Docs are meant to be grindy. To be honest it's one of the things that kept me still playing this game from time to time.
Last 6 weeks I played a lot about 120+ hours and only in this game . I got half of all docs during that time and only 10 left for me on two DLC maps. So it is not that bad.
And I do not use any guide or a walkthrough to know all docs locations beforehand, but I do try to remember doc's location when someone marks it or I find it myself.
Sometimes I can do 2 or 3 runs on daily challenge map within one hour, not always getting a doc for a run. Sometimes you can miss it or die near end.
Someone on these forums shared that there are around 15 locations on each map and there are always 3 docs spawned randomly on those fixed location.
If you want to farm docs on specific map weekly challenge is your best bet, but it is usually more difficult than daily challenges.
The point is my group plays the story campaigns once through start to finish. There is no way I can grind out the documents even on my own before doing the campaign so those weapon perks might as well not exist....
Even If I did need maps that we already played (one perk for my SMG requires the 2nd to last set of maps so that won't happen) I'd have to find that map in the rotation... but if you work and check in the evening and it's not there, that's it for the day. There is no checking back a couple hours from now.. and even if you did find the map, with mutators that didn't make it impossible with bots, 9 times in a row is like 3-4 hours straight... so you can do it once or twice then wait AGAIN for it to come in the rotation next week or whatever...
Again, seems like content is just locked away that most players will never see. That's why WWZ got a negative rating from me.
Why require a player to do a crappy mission or grind a crappy thing to get part of the content they paid for. If challenge maps are fun they don't need a reward to get players to play them.... if they are not fun they have no business being part of a game someone paid for.
If you plan to play it only once from start to end then why do you complain, you're not a target audience for this game. People payed for a good co-op game with a sense of progression which has been improved over the years that game is out. Collecting docs is a part of it.
Next time do some research before you buy something.
You know COD series has also 6 hours campaign, but no one buys the game for that and no one complains he does not have all multiplayer weapons and items in campaign.
- Classes (Gunslinger, Fixer, Medic, Slasher) can now be assigned to the bots, and they can use the abilities of these classes.
So now it's not even that hard to get through most of the daily challenges alone with bots without failing for a spectacularly stupid reason at the very end.Second, if you use this neat offline trick, you can wait for a map you need and do it like 9 times in a row to get all documents out of it. Or at least get 3 documents in a row without haste. So it's not even that grindy either.
The real problem with documents IMO is that most of the bonuses for collecting all of them are not substantial enough. It's like a 5% chance of this happens or a 10% chance of that happens. It should be 25% for everything. Or at least within 25-75% range if all players in the session have all documents for the map. With 5%-10% chances I don't really care much about those bonuses, I just like the overall challenge.
