How do skills work?
When you unlock skills is there any cross skill tree skills? Can you take multiple skills at once or just one from each tree? Should I bother unlocking everything or just the ones I care most about.

You can only pick one skill per column at a time, except the red perks which are permanent (if you prestige a class at level 30 you will get unlock new red perks)

If you prestige (which itself costs 7500 yellow points) then just buy the ones you want.

Once you start playing Horde and high difficulties you will find you can earn yellow coins really easily so spending coins on skills becomes easier.

Thank you, that explains a lot of what I didn't understand and tells me I have 3x as many options as I initially thought.

You can buy every skill on your list but can only have 1 equipped in each tier. There are good videos on some builds that work for Horde/Pve mode.

If you are planning on maxing out your classes by prestiging, I would suggest not to buy any of the perks. Just use your money to prestige, and when you have reached prestige 4 or the level you want, then buy the perks. Because if you buy the perks and hit prestige, you lose your perks and have to buy them again.

So I guess I should do horde mode and just presitiging if I like the class then.

Yeah, the horde mode is the fastest way to earn coins and experience points. Also, one thing to remember, while some of the perks in a column may seem pointless or useless, they're not. You can go with different builds and different perks give you flexibility. You can adjust your perks according to your play style. Plus, some perks alone don't seem great, but combined with another perk they can prove to be a game changer.
