The base game has 4 episodes, a.k.a. Campaigns, which each consist of multiple maps per Campaign.
There is also a DLC Campaign that was released after the base game, and which is included with this Aftermath version.
In addition, the Aftermath version has two new campaigns on top of all that.
So, in total, Aftermath gives you 7 Campaigns, which consists of 23 different unique maps.
That's a lot more content, for a lot cheaper of a price, than is offered by competitor game like "Back 4 Blood," which only has 8 maps, in total (ROFL!), for $59.99, plus endless microtransactions on top of that.
Also, World War Z requires repeated playthrough of the maps in order to gain experience and level up your characters' Classes, each of which comes with unique perks that can only be earned by gaining experience by playing as that particular class.
And since you can only play as one Class at a time, there is no way to level up all your Classes simultaneously (hence multiple playthroughs is needed in order to earn viable characters of every Class).
You also have to level-up your weapons through experience of using them, which likewise requires multiple playthroughs.
As for the video you saw of a guy beating an Episode solo, in 30 minutes, on the hardest difficulty: that would be a very atypical experience. That comment makes it sound as if the game is an easy cakewalk to breeze through the first time...but it actually isn't, at all.
For the average player, they aren't going to stand a chance on the hardest difficulty unless they are:
a) playing in Co-op (since bots are very dumb, and highly useless, and don't come with any experience levels or class perks, and don't pick up upgraded weapons or equipment or medkits, and don't help set up defenses, etc.) and
b) have fully leveled-up the Class & weapons of the character they are playing
c) have a lot of experience on the particular map they are playing on.
In other words, that video you saw seems to have given you a very misleading impression about the game's difficulty. Maybe an eSports-type player or a hacking player could breeze through the game with bots no matter what...but an average normal gamer, no way.
This game is actually very hard on the higher difficulties, even with full 4 players in Co-op. It's very common for your whole party to get defeated in a matter of seconds during a horde attack. Most players are going to experience that many times.
Sorry for bad english. HF
That being said it is the next best game after left 4 dead when it comes to zombie shooter.
7/10 with everything considered
but i usualy stay away from games with dlcs but i stick around with this one couse its dlcs actualy add content and make the game better its not one of those games wich add a dlc with weapons and sh1t. but it actualy add maps campaings new class weapons new mechanics . the only other game i saw doing this is grim dawn . they may be slow at their actions heck they need a year + to add smth new but they haven't give up yet thats a plus for me . i have 300h+ on the game already with my friends and we keep playing a match every week . im only afraid with the steam reviews from haters they gonna kill the game for stupid reasong wait and see :P steam community is worse than riot community those days they kill games for no reasons at all they should ban the troll reviews realy
The game is pretty damn good. Im excited for it to coming to Steam
I bought World War Z on EPIC and it was so good that I bought it for three other other people.
Back 4 Blood on the other hand, is always-online, live-service trash which will definitely get killed just like Battleborn, Lawbreakers and Evolve, the last of which was literally made by the same company.
Speaking of which, if the Back 4 Blood devs cared about players at all, they would have learned from their mistakes and made their next game playable offline or on community servers so that it wouldn't become unplayable like Evolve. However, they have instead decided to pack the game full of microtransactions and disable mods because they view players as nothing more than assets to be exploited and discarded.
