was this worth the money?

before i start i just want to base this discussion on players opinions on the price tag and what we got for the money...i have to say when i downloaded aftermath i was thinking i would have a new menu...but sadly no...after all this wait for a major update...they couldn't even be bothered to give a new menu screen....exactly the same menu screen from 2yrs back...one new class which in my opinion needs some working on....also to only be given 2 new campaigns which were pretty generic to the other maps....was it really worth buying this? I've owned the game at least 3 times on different platforms and i have to admit once this released put me off the game which is sad because i smash this out on ps4 and xbox! One would think after all this time you would give a new horde map??? Okay we got new weapons but they feel generic to the others we have already in the game? just feels like the devs wanted some money back so they hyped this new aftermath for it only to be quite a disappointment. Would i recommend this to players who already own the original....NO...for those who haven't played or owned the game then yes buy it! Massive separation for old players and new to enjoy this new instalment....sad times

Not being disrespectful, but I can care less about 2 years ago. I didn't buy this game expecting something I didn't get 2 years ago.

I was actually going to wait a month for the halloween sale and figure $30 dollars seems like a good price. I'm tired of waiting and this is something I wanted to play now. I didn't get charged $60 or asked to support a game that wasn't even out yet.

$40 for Aftermath and that's what I got. Let some of us new people enjoy the game. People should stop telling me why I shouldn't like this game. Especially the people that knew what they were getting into.

What ever problems people have with the first person view, is their problem. There is nothing with it, I never miss a head shot. People say there is something off about it. Duh, you are carrying your weapon off to the side.

First person makes this game all worth it! After loading up Zombie Army 4, I wouldn't want to go back to 3rd person.

For the upgrade price on EGS it’s worth the money, to buy it all over on steam then no.

aye but the update was weak as hell...how can we have FPS mode without being able to zoom in through the scope....after 2yrs you would think looking through a scope wont impact there budget much....just feels sloppy for a upgrade on the game..also still a few bugs which were brought up in 2019 that still exist here...example delay on med pack when using it....only to name a few bugs that can disrupt gameplay....the price tag for this should be about £10 or less not £22...just extra skins and a few new weapons with one class....is that worth £22? feel sad with the gaming industry look at the new fireteam lol...shambles

$20 upgrade for afterm on epic is pretty decent, but I play this game a lot so I get my money's worth, the new content is decent for my expectations. Over 2600 hours since 2019.

Its worth it, but that depends on you as the consumer. You shouldnt let others judge a game for you, instead you be the judge. But im my opinion, yeah its worth it. Aftermath is an expansion to WWZ. It offers you Two new places, 6 new maps, new upcoming special zeke, a first person mode (that doesnt have aim down sights), 4 new characters with a bunch of new skin, new guns, new melee weapons, a new class, upcoming daily challanges, and a new horde mode called XL. If you are on epic and previously OWNED THE GAME. Then you can get the game for 20 dollars. But if you've never had the game, and is completely NEW TO WORLD WAR Z. Then go with steam. You will get WWZ Aftermath and previous DLC for 40 dollars.

Yes, well worth it, as most of us bought it on Steam as if it was a new game , we arent bothered it got an Epic exclusive 2 years ago.
We judge it as a fully new release and it rocks.

It was the fact it was on that badly designed clunky Epic that put most of us off EVEN when it was free for a while on there.

+1 ... or worth it at a discount on steam but not worth full price IMHO.

It's basically a game that is 2 years old, was given away free permanently on EGS for a while and got a recent update. Just FYI, I do own the game on both platforms and enjoy playing it. Worth it if you can get it at a price that is right for you ;)

I myself couldn't bring myself to enjoy the game on console,i don't know if maybe i played for not that long that i didn't figure out this option, but the absence of a shoving melee mechanic when you use a weapon felt like i was too limited,maybe it's just something you may need to get used to.
Considering that also maybe some people waited for the release of this game on steam it is good overall.

yea i feel everyones point about the value for buck vibe and also being aware this is a new launch for steam...just the appeal to attract old players back from other platforms just didnt seem that welcoming thats all...guess i was expecting more for the price tag considering i owned everything on ps4 and xbox...either way for new players yes major money saver...for old players....like myself (in my opinion) very lackluster (owned game previously). Still thank you for the posts on a more positive reasoning for buying...just wanted to get others impressions especially those who have owned the title previously..

I also didn't know what were the new features, in fact at first i thought it was an actual sequel of the first game i only realized a bit later by looking on forums and other videos that at the end it was in-fact the same game if not maybe a more enchanced version with all the past dlc together, so i myself if i bought this game i wouldn't expect anything that different overall but i would have expected something different if i didn't realize that it was no sequel before.

From your point of view i see it as something understandable, since from you, an already past owner of this game, this feels like the same game overall but on a different machine/shop and from that point all the argument would be: is it worth to buy this game again after i bought it already a lot of times ? And while for some it may be a yes,maybe in that case for you it's a no which is understandable after you may have played it a lot,btw it's also fine to be critical about changes if they can be improved or they don't work properly.

Content is OK for money payed, but technical problems kill it.
Can't even play horde mode. There is no memory leak I can see, but horde mode begins to freeze and glitch the longer you play.
