Very good post, helped me a lot! Will start playing gunslinger first than maybe exterminator and after that we will see, how do i pin this post as an answer to my topic?
Medic: While things look simple with upkeeping health, if you are going to main Medic as support, the learning curve becomes really steep once you jump into Extreme difficulty. You will no longer see player names. You have to know which character a player is actually playing. So your difficulty spike changes from health maintenance to memorization. Kill potential is at the end of the tree where you can stim yourself to have a 50% damage boost. Better spent on your damage dealers, but it doesn't hurt for you to join in the fun when you need to be on the attack rather than feeling 'sidelined'
Vanguard: Major bonus points if you have buddy that sticks close to you for shield block. Closing off a potential point of infestation is a vanguard's strongest point. They may not possess much firepower, but their ability to funnel or stagger zombies gives the team breathing room to clean up or open up a path to safety while you hold down an area.
Fixer: The damage support of the team. You can go the method of explosive ammo, but the up to 14 seconds of stealth is pretty broken when you coordinate with the entire team. Ammo fixer is great for when the team constantly splits up as it basically gives them a nice temporary ammo crate and firepower bonus.
Dronemaster: If your team is very prone to friendly fire, this class is your best friend in the late levels. Get the perk that basically reduces friendly fire damage by 100% and you don't have to worry about misplaced shots. The prestige bonuses are very useful in that they not only increase damage, it also reduces the damage taken. Its support bonuses are heavily underestimated in Extreme difficulty given that when your perks carry through to whomever you send the drone to provided you learnt sharing is caring.
spec fixer for ammo crates, spec medic for invisible stim and spec gunslinger for fast reload + damage boost after reload
currently this patch I think hellraiser (due to increased horde sizes on new levels)and slasher (melee changes) might be up there
I see vanguard as potential best class for speed runners although the class lacks synergy.
also best weapon to deal with rats as of now pre patch would be heavy weapons in this order from strongest to weakest, rocket, lmg, and then payload rifle. I played all night yesterday and the rats did not get me once even when it comes underneath with horde. speaking playing on 4+star
They got rid of quick reload by weapon switch. You have to do quick reload with melee now, which means the thrifty perk will benefit GS more now.
take the faster reload (thifty) like you say , combine that with esc or melee reload the class is really strong
I know, I carry with gunslinger all the time. I played this game close to 250 days on Epic which is close to 6000 hours. Gunslinger is the only real class. I'm one of the top WWZ players.
how do you feel about vanguard, i have no clue how to spec it since it seems to lack synergy.
It's dogsh*t, flush it down the turd flume.
alright
