also mangas almost always contain words to complement the image heavy nature of themselves so they can be treated as literature too. and they mainly uses paper as visual mediums just like the usual novel and other literature club (though nowadays all of them almost always be converted into e books to conserve the environment from overuse of papers
and some mangas are much more heavy on their usage of words to tell their stories.
so manga is literature too. the other dokis aside from natsuki are simply written like orthodox japanese school students that does not have much exposure to manga, so in their ignorance they think its just book filled with pictures for kids and teenagers' entertainment. though the non natsuki dokis slowly acknowledge manga as literature is okay or just not focus on that topic as the game progresses.
and creepypasta is just verbal/digital storytelling like campfire storytelling to scare or impress the audience. creepypasta is not a literature except if its told through a word heavy book or ebook i guess.
I agree (given my current, still limited, knowledge on the subject) that manga, given what it is and the amount of effort put into the books, is literature. Isn't manga somewhat similar to western comic books that have a lot of visuals in them (more visuals than words)?
The reason I'm so interested in this classification and topic is partly because I have higher education on language and literature specifically (hence I speak English so well, I studied English).
