Yuri best
From the point of sheer affection towards the characters (considering in general), the list would go from my favourite like this: Yuri, Monika, Sayori, Natsuki.
However, if I actually had to consider having one of them as my girlfriend (if, for example, the girls from Act 1 were real-life people) and had to make a choice, the best choice would possibly be Natsuki or Yuri, the other (not chosen as the girlfriend) being my friend. Wouldn't mind having Sayori and Monika as my friends too as long as they weren't too "overwhelming."
In conclusion, I can agree that, given a certain perspective, Natsuki is the best girl. Possibly most suited for a reasonable relationship but... I would be damned to miss the depth and intellectuality of Yuri (she seems to be the most interesting character of these four, Monika being the second most interesting one to me).
act 1 monika is driving people to off themselves then joking about it btw
not sure you'd want to be within a thousand miles of her
and how would natsuki be a good choice? a tsundere would be a terrible gf and would come off as a bully most of the time
I agree with your perspective now. I haven't noticed your post before, Susen, because I was taking a break from these forums. Enough introduction, I proceed to the point now.
Natsuki: horribly wrong previous opinion. I admit to being wrong about her. Now I view her negatively for being mean and unfriendly out of her insecurities and history of abuse. Not someone I would try to befriend or romance. Completing her romance route has given me a full perspective on her. If she doesn't change, she is really at risk of becoming a horrible person. Her toxicity just ruins any good traits she possesses.
You make a good point on her, Susen.
Monika: as time passes, I'm less and less inclined to believe her innocence. She might truly possess some really dark features to her personality. Even if taken out of DDLC circumstances, she might be plainly (too) selfish by default. I really have a hard time believing and trusting her if she basically never shows her true self.
Besides, we can only wonder by what exact means she killed Sayori, and how (morally) awful her methods of achieving her goals are. The implications of this all, combined with all her behaviours, reactions, and deeds, don't make Monika look good, especially that she appears to be fully aware of what she is doing (but may simply not care). Not a person I would try to befriend or romance.
Sayori: I can elaborate on her but I don't see her being the subject of the matter here. I've also changed my opinion on her. Not an object of romantic interest but might not mind having her as a friend, provided that the friendship in question wouldn't become too "one-sided." Something fair for both sides would be good.
Yuri: not a subject matter here as well. I plan on elaborating on her (and most likely other girls as well) in a different thread. My opinion on her has also changed somewhat. Anyway... she's the only one I would really care about and be actively interested in (for her good qualities and generally for personality traits). Let's hope she never turns out to be irrepairable, evil, or twisted...
In conclusion, I'm glad that my opinions have been questioned (not that I intentionally attempted to start a discussion with an ill opinion or perception). I'm open to discussion, I just might... need a revision of my viewpoints sometimes. Taking a break to process the game has definitely helped, just like completing it fully (hence I have almost 30 hours without mods).
Edit: expanded my opinion on Sayori and Yuri.
