I don't care if I'm offending half the community, I'm gonna say the truth. Monika is a psychopath who kills her 3 friends and then forces and traps you to stay with her. Yuri is an insane Yandere and maniac who "cuts herself with your poems so your blood is inside her", she has no problems watching other people die in stories and probably IRL too and might even enjoy it. THESE ARE THE TYPES OF GIRLS WHO WOULD SLIT YOUR THROAT IF THEY GET BORED OF YOU. Sayori, on the otherhand, is an innocent girl who is just overwhelmed by her love and emotions and goes suicidal for you due to confusion of her own feelings but there is no malicious intent, and Natsuki acts tough to hide the fact she is a pure and innocent girl. Her core is extremely honest and loving, like Sayori's is. Meanwhile Monika and Yuri are MANIACS. Yes, I said it. This is 100% the truth. I know people are allowed to like whoever but for real, but know MONIKA AND YURI WOULD KILL YOU IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT (unless you're into that) while Sayori and Natsuki GENUINELY love you, without a psychopathic obsession or narcissitic traits that Monika and Yuri have.

girl, yuri is my fav character. i like that, on the first round she's so shy, and lovely, and then, in the next rounds she's so obsessive, and the other stuff...well, i think that's what make this character special.

I remember when I first played ddlc she used to my favorite since I was a "bookworm" at the time and I liked the book scenes well with yuri.

The only reason it changed was because of my interests and changes in life.
