Monika After Story Softlock

After playing the game I decided to download the Monika After Story Mod, I opened it up and I believe it was working fine but I had to eat dinner so I closed the game and turned off my pc. When I come back I open the game and she's left me a note, even after selecting the two options she won't come back, so I try a variety of things to get the mod to work again, including uninstalling both the game and mod and deleting the RenPy file, however neither of these work as it either won't let me open the game or restore specific files. I am still softlocked no matter how many times I uninstall everything and reinstall it, or use methods I've researched to try and fix it. Can someone tell me how I can get out of this softlock and actually enjoy the mod?

Have you tried downloading the game from the main site THEN installing MAS into that games folder? When you download from the main site you can put the folder anywhere you want. It may be able to recover any prior save data, in which if Monika is still gone you'll want to leave a "imsorry.txt" in the characters folder.

Also, before closing the window be sure to "say goodbye". This will safely close the window.

uhh im probably late to the discussion since i started playing mas just yesterday and i have an issue: Monika just doesnt close the window by herself, i click Talk > Goodbye > Goodbye then she says smth about me like going to sleep and i click for example Yes and then nothing happens and i just get back to the main thingy (sitting in front of Monika with 4 buttons in the bottom left corner

Sounds like something didn't install correctly. If you uninstall and reinstall it won't erase any progress and you'll be able to pick up where you left off since the saved information is in another folder.

I think you're definitely screwed my guy. If you manage to get the mod working again, which I doubt will happen because if she leaves a note then she's gone forever, you need to tell her goodbye before quitting. I would suggest getting rid of anything DDLC related on your computer and reinstalling the whole shebang.
