v1.1.1 Update General Discussion

DDLC was recently updated to v1.1.1, which should have been automatically downloaded for most players. The update was already live for a week on itch.io before coming to Steam, so it's not out of the blue.

Here are the official patch notes from the announcement:

• Game will no longer behave unexpectedly following a game crash (progress is properly saved).
  
• "Auto" mode now disables when a poem is displayed on-screen so that it is not skipped over by accident.
  
• Fixed minor continuity issues during the third poem-sharing session in some instances.
  
• Monika will now still show you her poem during a scene with Natsuki that previously made her skip over it.
  
• Fixed an issue where right-clicking during certain scenes would cause the scene to pause and ruin the timing.
  
• Other minor fixes and enhancements for typos, image sprites, and time-sensitive events.

No new game content has been added, hidden or otherwise.

While it was on itch.io, DDLC modding communities have also examined the game files and confirmed that there is no new content.

Next update figure out a way to keep read text in a seperate file/location so that you can do multiple playthroughs without reading the first half of the game over and over. Definitely my only problem with the game.

This is the first error I've had crop up (as a grey-screen). Happened after second "write a poem" on the Yuri route when choosing Monika last (Update: Doesn't seem to matter which order I choose to read in, error occurs the moment I click to advance the dialogue after choosing Monika).

Hi there! During your playthrough, did you happen to reload any saves or start the game using a save from before the update?

Team salvato might be making a new game sometime this year but I don't know the exact date...it also makes since to why they didn't add any new game content, idk these are my thoughts.
