Doki Doki Literature Club

Doki Doki Literature Club

Traceback error
I've been trying to install a mod called "Her", but no matter what I do, I always get the same error. I always just take the mods files and put them into the game folder, but this always happens.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

While running game code:
TypeError: must be string or read-only buffer, not None

I've uninstalled the game at least five times, I've verified the integrity of my files over and over, I've gone looking for any way to fix this and found nothing. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

If you've had any prior mods or something went wrong this the first installation of this one then uninstalling the game won't help because Steam only uninstalls the specific game files, NOT the stuff you put inside the folder. So, when you reinstall you're putting the game back in its place with the prior mod bits still inside that destination folder.

See if a clean install helps.

1- Uninstall through Steam.

2- Locate and delete the DDLC folder.

3- Reinstall through Steam.

4- Add the new mod.
