Ahh, Doki Doki Literature Club! A horror game that I played that I really didn't consider scary. I played Outlast and wasn't that scared by it, all it was was a go here find stuff to interacte with and a monster tossed in to run from. But DDLC is a free visual "horror" game that had you clicking through text and hitting phrases for your character to say and of course making poetry! This poetry concept is unique but it felt worthless because all it does is make the character you made it say "holy crap you made this for me!" I mean some people would go saying "it increases your affinity with them!" Well the only way of doing that is via special phrases you say. Also the characters look pretty good they have a lot of color which dosen't make much sense for characters who are depressed, like Sayori who commits suicide for that reason and for a depressed person she wears a lot of color. Most of the depressed people I know wear bland colors and not pink or any other flashy colors for that matter. And speaking of characters I see many people saying that this game's characters broke their hearts and even one dude I met on the forums became obsessed with Yuri, the purple haired, aichmomaniac(the obsession of knives) and yandere girl. Monika the control freak. Sayori who is the depressed pink haired girl who commits suicide that jumpstarts everything. And Natsuki whos the tsundere. It's okay to be attached to digital girls, heck Japanese men do it! But to me i never grew attached to these girls even though I myself am depressed! I should be attahced to them but I know their fake and don't exist, they don't have free will. They are just puppets being dictated by the code of the game. And of course the fans made the girls Nazis and Rule-34-atized them! Now I will move on to the "horror" and the "deception." I mean the idea of having a dating simulator then transform to a game where the characters are all corrupted is cool! I mean the game never devolves to mutilated monsters jumping and making a loud cat screetching at you. The charactersd get corrupted like Sayori's character sprite all broken and flickering is cool. Making Yuri's eyes realistic looking even though its obvious they photoshopped and animated them to move or Yuri stabbing herself and watching her blood covered knife dry up is a unique idea and having her utter strange words to you is neat. I mean this is neat but man everyone treats this as the next Outlast and saying it horrify them, disturbed them and said it was missed up. Saying it changed them and gave them mental diseases. I know how horror causes differant things to people but are these people snowflakes or something!? It says a ton of times that "this is not meant for kids and people with depression." Well this should notify you that it is scary, heck it says it everytime you boot up the game! So no, its not scary and is most certainly not a master deceptionst. Next Team Salvato don't play all your cards, this could've been pretty scary if they haven't said "this is not meant for kids or people with depression." Over and over. This reminds me of the beginning of Dead Space 1 where they tell you over and over to dismember the enemies. Team Salvato, take a lession from the master deceptionst Apollo Robins. This game dosen't deserve a 10/10. More like an 8/10 for uniqueness and enjoyment I still recomend it though!

this game is so messed up I thought I was getting into a game about making freinds not this slender man/grudge horror stuff.If I wanted horror I would look to Friday the 13th!Ah yes I caught the warning but was not really prepared for what I was getting into

Cool man, but I was not phased by this game. To me its not very scary just a collection of warped character sprites. I mean yes warped sprites can be scary like Giygas from Earthbound, but Giygas really wasn't scary to me. But if you want a missed up visual novel may I recommand Eurphoria? Its simple a premise for that VN a man and two girls are locked in a white room and the man is a "key" and the girls are the "keyhole" im sure you understand what comes next. ;}

Honestly, I do respect your opinion over Outlast, but I strongly disagree. Also, the "fans" and the "r34" part has nothing to do with the game and i honestly think the fans that do rule 34 and nazi stuff with the girls from ddlc and the obsessives are (like always) basically the bad/vocal minority here. But anyways, ddlc is actually a visual novel but has 4th wall breaks. I mean, it's not the best game, I have some problems with the visual novel or game whatever you like to call it, but I don't really think it's that bad. Also I do agree with some points and I do not agree on some points.

Dude, that's not the good art, that's the weird and bizzare side of art. All I am just saying is that most artwork is great but there is some ddlc artwork out here are a bit too weird.

The review was that of both the game and its community, and of the other reviews. This review was what I call a "Complete Review" when there is a game thats been out for a while I make a full review of its fans, the game and its artwork. Also that picture is Ecchi. Which is timid Hentai.

Yeah, I know that picture is not Hentai but it's Ecchi but honestly, just because some of the fans are bad, doesn't mean all or most of the fans or people in the community are bad just in case you didn't know. Also I do understand what you called your review to the game a "complete review" but honestly yes it is a full review to the game but tbh the community and the game are basically 2 different things and sadly that's the truth, they're "two different things."
