*SPOILERS* Making a DDLC Anime

I have an ep 1 script rough drafted below. Please give it a read through and give some criticism! There's also a discord link!
Hello everyone! Ever since the first few minutes of me starting the game I really wanted it to be in anime form. Recently It's been plaguing my mind more and more, thinking about how I would translate it to an anime format, what would be good character moments, and how to keep the story roughly the same for fans but also change it enough to be new and enjoyable as well.

I think I've settled on a format of making it a Harem like anime but without the lewdness of it all. Every episode (or every other) will have a date with one of the girls:

Monika: She's the first one of course to hop onto the Protagonist dating wagon. They go out to get school supplies because the room's is running low. Natsuki gets upset and says they should follow them and Sayori agrees. (this way you get the stereotypical girls following the protagonist on a date episode) They of course get caught half way through the date and Monika leaves giving her a reason to feel she didn't get as much time as others.

Yuri: Instead of hearing that Yuri went to the book store to get the Protagonist a book in the game, Yuri and him go to the book store. After not being able to find one and the Protagonist questioning if he should really be in the Lit. Club. Yuri calms him down and they settle on Portrait of Markov, Yuri's favorite book.

Natsuki: I haven't figured out her date yet but I thought at some point the Protagonist drawing a manga for her would be really cute.

Sayori: I also am not sure yet about her date but i think that this whole time the Protagonist should slowly start walking her home less and less due to dates. I also think on her "date" should be her confession. Of course I want her ending to still be new and surprising even to fans.

Other things I've planned out:

1. There will be the stereotypical Pervert Friend not only to play into the genre but to get exposition and back story from. I think he should also be wedged out of the Protagonists life by Monika early on.
   
   
2. After Sayori's fate there should only be about 2 episodes so it doesn't feel repetitive and drive away viewers.
   
   
3. Every time Monika talks to the player or something weird happens, the Protagonists eyes should fade to show he's not retaining any information. Which plays into the next point.
   
   
4. I think the ending should have the protagonist snapping out of it and kill themselves with Yuri's knife. This way it gives a proper end the show because there's no deleting characters in this version. Of course Monika will cry and say her goodbyes and say to watch the show again occasionally.
   
   
5. Monika edits the story with her pink notebook and pen you see in the art for the game.
   
   
6. This one i thought of recently, but i think Monika and the Protagonist should almost be like a Yin and Yang. Where Monika messes with the story, and the show tries to correct it through the protagonist. Which of course feeds into her doing more.

I wouldn't add too many extra details that weren't in the original. That kind of thing tends to bug the fans. And if this does in fact end up going anywhere someday, there's always kickstarter. It worked for Nekopara. There's definitely enough people that would be willing to donate to seeing a DDLC anime. You'd just need to come up with a script good enough for Dan to approve of and get a greenlight. But on the other hand, maybe if he decided he was interested in an anime adaptation, he'd want to write it himself. We can dream.

I think the script is good! Here is a suggestion though:
It is always good to stay true to the nature of the game you are trying to adapt, it IS possible9Nekopara for example). For example, maybe the "Pervert friend" acts that way because his sister/mom/femalefriend9?) was treated that way constantly and he was taught to be that way.
Like I said, its awsome! Thats just a suggestion/advice.
But the name "Aki" doesn't suit him... how about "Nise-Kun"?

For the name, why not just MC? People that don't know what it stands for will just think it's his initials. And people that do know what it stands for won't really care. It is satire after all. It's also what his character is called whenever it's mentioned in the game script.

Thanks for the input! You're actually one of the most helpful so far. I could see maybe an episode where he has that back story, it could help lend the show going from normal to serious as well. Thanks for the name idea too! I was looking for names for a while and I liked the idea of his name meaning hope or meaning gentleman. But most of those names where in other shows and I just liked how Aki was short and could be said in a cute way haha

I know the show is a satire but to Dan it was also a "love letter" to anime and I wanted this feel like a regular anime so that the twist could be greater felt. I want to keep the anime as true to the game to make everyone happy, but it cant be a 1:1 copy. It can't be too different either.

Hmm... well, I have spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what he was going for. Either way, the name should probably be as generic and flavorless as possible. MC is meant to be a self insert character that has no personality. That way the player can project themselves onto them. It also played an important part in the horror aspects because it put you in the story. Also going from the naming themes, he named Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri to sound Japanese, but purposely named Monika to work out as either Japanese or a western name. Some people believe that Monika is named that because it's the Japanese pronunciation of "moniker", a word for "name". You could do something along those lines. Anyway, it's up to you in the end. I just want to let you know my thoughts on it in case it helps.

Your thoughts really do help so thank you for talking to me about it. I felt like because most people hated the mc even though that means he's doing his job I thought I could change him a little. To make people enjoy the interaction with the girls. I still plan on Monika being aware and in love with the viewer.
