As for my play time, it's a little over 15 hours. Not sure if this counts the base game time or if it it also includes any mods I've played. Monikas Afterstory has you move her modified version of the game into a separate folder, so I doubt time there counts.
Yes, it does. Worth a try.
Oh about your problem. Sometimes when you start the game via steam it stops counting your hours (and steam won't show you playing ddlc). Probably it's just a bug.
The way you express your thoughts makes you look like a bully... But may be I misunderstood you.
What about Monika. Tbh she is main character and this story is about her epiphany and admission, not about MC's harem fantasies. She isn't a good girl, but not an antagonist at all. Just depressed (Yes, she is!) girl that made some weird decisions. And reasons for it are she just lost in her thoughts and she doesn't know much about her and our worlds.
She didn't kill anyone, those files aren't even characters. Even then people play games and kill NPCs and other players; I see no reason to hate them for it. She did only one really bad thing, she didn't allow us to see the festival! :) But I'm sure she is missing the festival as well!
Well I'm manic depressive, so it's pretty easy for me to take things as an insult.. No worries.
Of course this game is 4th wall breaking and the characters are self aware. But.. as someone who's actually been in a relationship with a manipulative and charming psychopath (yes really), I'd say her characteristics are pretty spot on..
Have you noticed that after you delete Monika and continue the game without her, in order to reach the end, every single one of the other characters are much more normal, likeable and shows no signs of how they acted previously, while under the influence of Monika's manipulations?
And even if it's a self aware, 4th wall breaking horror game it does in fact delve into the psyche of depression, abuse, self-abuse and manipulation. And it does that very well. It actually makes you care for these characters. In Monika's case, it also shows how likeable and sweet people actually can percieve sociopaths aka fall for their charms..
