BORING! When is creepy stuff gonna happen?

I'm like 25 minutes into this game, on my second poem, and it's dragging soooo slowwwwllly.
Like, I know its supposed to take a dark and edgy turn all of a sudden, but could this game try tu subvert my expectations a bit sooner?

Its so dull to read this cliched slice-of-life fluff, honestly, how could anybody stomach this long enough to get to the good parts. Undertale didn't waste half an hour to start subverting your expectations, honestly, is it just better to watch somebody's edited version of this game, if one has no patience for uninteresting filler?

I gave it a solid 30 minutes of not skipping. Undertale didn’t play itself like a mediocre retro rpg for 2 hours before it started subverting my expectations, I just expected a more focused narrative

Expectations can ruin any game, like the hype that came before Fallout 4 so you're not alone.
Going in blind to a game, having no expectations or simply the latter can help with having a better experience with it and determining if you actually like it or not.
Placing a game on a pedestal or having high hopes for It can go well, or very bad.

I liked Fallout 4 just fine TBH

BTW, to anybody experiencing the same issue as me, I highly recommend watching this guy’s playthrough

It is much more entertaining than playing it by yourself and adds a lot of interesting/snarky commentary

knowing the game is horror before playing kinda ruins it. i played it before it got popular and it was actually a huge surprise when the crazy ♥♥♥♥ happened

It doesn't take that long and the "creepy" relies heavily on you getting to know the characters. They become less cliché when you get to know a little more.

"Don't judge a book by it's cover" as they say.

But yeah as people have stated, if the stuff beforehand doesn't interest you then the "creepy" stuff really won't mean much to you.

I’m a fast reader, but even on ‘skip’ it took me 40 minutes to get to the interesting stuff, and it takes a few hours for lets players to get to it.


Also the characters are bland and typical anime trope. Barely worth 2 words of description each. Plot’s non-existent and superficial character development, maybe I’ve just played too many vns and world prefer my expectation to be subverted in a more clever and quicker manner

ImScared did this whole ‘spooky file thing’ way better and didn’t drag for hours
